There are extremist fundamentalists (certainly not all Muslims) that are very easy to understand. Excuse their behavior, justifying it, ignoring it, or tripping over yourself in a rush to drag other religions into it simply ensures their behavior will continue unchecked. Kinda telling. They used to do their beheadings in taped secret hideouts...now they are doing it on the streets of London and pretty much telling you...its only just beginning. You need more 'understanding'? Cuz...I can post pics and videos.

    That begs a question.

Was the killer in this case always a extremist? Or was he a moderate who became extreme due to some influence.

Vance, people are not born radicals. Unlike what you presume, my intention is to not coddle them. It's silly to even think it. I despise radicals as much as any normal thinking human. But what I want to know is... what causes them to be that way? Once that is figured out, wouldn't it be so much better trying to fix those issues rather than bombing the **** out of them? Because if one chooses the latter, I suspect that more radicals will develop from such choices and the cycle would never end.

Now do you see where I am coming from?

So yes, you do need to say more, but make it rational and applicable this time.
You completely missed the point of my response. My response has nothing to do with England, and it's laws. It has to do with Islam and its laws!

It's moronic in the vein of how the Left frames it.
It's moronic that people still don't understand why the US continues to be attacked. It's our foreign policy.

Some people are born into radical environments. Some people also choose to become radicalized. Non muslims join up the great and glorious cause and go to the ME to engage in Jihad (and not just poor underprivileged starving people). Radicalism...extremism...its a movement. Its a movement that is fairly overt. Turning a blind eye to the overt flamethrowing fundamentalists in your back yard (as in what is happening in England or for that matter in Boston a month ago) does not resolve the problems...it FEEDS the problems. The extremist is an asshole looking for a cause to land on. Perhaps when that vast majority of Muslims and all the rest of the world reaches a point where they are all committed to targeting and eliminating the extremists people will stop seeing it as an option or will at least go back to hiding in their caves. The asshole in question did it on the streets of England. Think about WHAT he did for a second and you will get a feel for who exactly you are dealing with. Sawing a mans head off with a machete is not a quick clean process. You have to be actively engaged in that work. That should speak volumes as to who you are dealing with. And before we rush to 'understand' their upset over British and American tropps in the ME, lets not forget these are the same people that wrap primer chord around the heads of school children, that rape and behead entire families in India, that hang and burn gay youths in Iran, that slaughter 12 young ...

Get the picture? The excuse of US and British presence in the ME is just this weeks excuse and nothing more.

    Beheaded girls were Ramadan 'trophies'
BY:STEPHEN FITZPATRICK, JAKARTA CORRESPONDENT From: The Australian November 09, 2006 12:00AM

THREE Christian high school girls were beheaded as a Ramadan "trophy" by Indonesian militants who conceived the idea after a visit to Philippines jihadists, a court heard yesterday.

The girls' severed heads were dumped in plastic bags in their village in Indonesia's strife-torn Central Sulawesi province, along with a handwritten note threatening more such attacks.

The note read: "Wanted: 100 more Christian heads, teenaged or adult, male or female; blood shall be answered with blood, soul with soul, head with head."

Javanese trader Hasanuddin appeared in Jakarta Central Court yesterday charged with planning and directing the murders in October last year. He faces a death sentence if found guilty under anti-terrorism legislation.

Its just moronic why those schoolgirls dont get why they were beheaded.
