    Unions Break Ranks On ObamaCare

the hill, old brian lamb's favorite source on cspan's washington journal in the morning:

Labor unions are breaking with President Obama on ObamaCare.

Months after the president’s reelection, a variety of unions are publicly balking at how the administration plans to implement the landmark law. They warn that unless there are changes the results could be catastrophic.

The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) — a 1.3 million-member labor group that twice endorsed Obama for president — is very worried about how the reform law will affect its members’ healthcare plans.

Last month, the president of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers released a statement calling “for repeal or complete reform of the Affordable Care Act.”

UNITE HERE, a prominent hotel workers’ union, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters are also pushing for changes.

In a new op-ed published in The Hill, UFCW President Joe Hansen homed in on the president’s speech at the 2009 AFL-CIO convention. Obama at the time said union members could keep their insurance under the law, but Hansen writes “that the president’s statement to labor in 2009 is simply not true for millions of workers.”

Everyone with a brain warned before this thing was passed that it was a steaming pile of manure and that was before we knew what all was in it.

Obamacare was based on a lie, pushed through with lies and we are continuing to be lied to about it.

How do you Obama supporters & Obamacare supporters feel about being lied to this whole time? I mean stared at in the eye and lied to your face...does it make you feel all fuzzy and warm inside knowing the man you support and defend day in and day out stands there and lied to your face?
Know the truth and the truth will make you mad, because the truth has no agenda.

I keep telling my congress critters to stop whining and start working. Any bill can be improved. Stop trying to return to the mess we had and make this more thing that works.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

We're soon to be a nation with a workforce largely of part-time workers. I can assure you that.

I'll pay you for 29 hours a week, and you go to the free clinic for your healthcare. Deal.

Start "working to do what " ? This bill on a fundamental level is a absolute disaster.

You do realize this was already the case, a movement that started long ago. No serious person would consider this reform the cause of that.

However, you want to remove healthcare as an excuse? Remove it from employment. Say with a universal payer.
