French activist kills himself in Notre Dame Cathedral in gay marriage protest

The notion that marriage = man + woman is the oldest notion of an institution in human history. They revered and respected the tradition and institution because they realized it has a specific purpose for the Human Race. If gays had the same respect they would create a new institution to fit their selfish needs but we both know this has nothing to do with gays or civil rights or even marriage. The real target is the family unit.



If gays want to have a ceremony and call it marriage and have their pretend marriages like roller coaster girl more power to them. Doesn't make it real marriage however. It never will be.

We don't really know what the long term consequences are going to be to society. What we do know is that children do best when raised by their biological parents in a low conflict household. Depriving them that right to push a political agenda is wrong. Kids deserve their mom and dad.

Well, aside from some tiny few exceptions, most societies that have ever existed have approached marriage in this way. I think that this is what he was referring to in a general sense. The exceptions to man + woman in recorded history are not similar to homosexual marriage. Homosexual marriage is a relatively, and I mean relatively new thing.

Societies change and evolve over time. I have yet to see a valid reason why the definition of marriage shouldn't be changed. In fact, we did change it here in Canada a number of years ago and guess what? The sun still rises in the east and sets in the west. It has not negatively affected our society.

If it's a legal marriage, then it IS a real marriage.
