For now. Lol. It's unraveling. Lerner's decision to use the 5th doesn't have all the legal implications it would have were she appearing in court. I imagine that every question contemplated will be asked, in spite of her response. We may be headed for an Independent Prosecutor.

This person does have the right to invoke her 5th Amendment rights. She also has a responsibility to answer question about her job. If she doesn't answer questions about her job, then she should be removed from her job. Presumably if she did something wrong, there are others who can incriminate her.

    BWHAHHAHHAAHAH!

This is why conservatism is going extinct faster than anyone could hope.
Good gawd, just shut up already with that crap.

She's taking the fifth because Obama doesn't want to be named, and she doesn't want to lie. Pull your head out of the sand, Ostrich Boy.

    Don't forget Fast & Furious.

Funny how Obama doesn't know and isn't responsible for anything, yet Bush was held widely responsible for a natural hurricane hitting New Orleans, and media barely pointed a finger at FEMA, the governor, or mayor.

Has Obama been held responsible for the incredibly slow recovery efforts in New Jersey after Sandy?

Damn straight. Highly unusual, but this has been building for quite some time. Looks like the price for Obama's second term is going up dramatically.

Is this what's to be expected when a group of lawyers are running things in DC? Maybe we should consider electing honest everyday no-nonsense farmers and housewives to lead us, since they still have common sense, and they are more trustworthy! They certainly couldn't do worse, and it would probably be an improvement!

We now know this about Obama. He's either:

    1. The presedential version of Al Capone.

    2. The most clueless dumbass to ever sit behind the Oval office desk.

Take your pick, but it is one or the other. There is "no none of the above".

    Hi lady P

It seems to me that you are correct about lawyers and electing regular folks.

I remember W.F.Buckley saying it would be an improvement to take
the first 535 names from the Boston phone book.

I'm in favor of that idea but not Boston-too liberal for me!!

Re: IRS official Lois Lerner to take the Fifth

As we see here in this thread the defenders of constitutional rights want to skip people's right to remain silent and go right to declaring them guilty without a trial. One would think that they would have learned something from giving the executive branch the power to spy on you without a warrant and the problems that has brought up, but no they are all for eliminating their rights out of fear and spite.

This person may very well be guilty, but that is no reason for us all to forget about our important right to remain silent. Perhaps some of you might want to think about that since you already voluntarily and willingly supported handing over your right to privacy and are now seeing the president spy on people because it is now a power given to whoever holds that position. Maybe i am wrong and this time those extra powers you surrender will not be used, but if you trust Obama with the power to compel you to speak out and incriminate yourself perhaps i am wrong to argue with you.
