    Terrible tragedy!

20 some odd children killed, 90+ killed altogether. Rather puts the Boston event into some kind of perspective, eh?

People like you are always great at spending other people's money.

Lived in Moore back in the 70s and 80s as a second and third grader. I remember spending many nights in the backyard storm cellar. It's gut-wrenching to think of the sheer terror of those small children in that school, and the parents today trying to cope with the impossible.

It's just unbelievable how often that suburb just south of Oklahoma City gets hit. Same thing happened in 99, along with several smaller tornadoes in between. On the contrary, Oklahoma City just 5-10 miles north almost never gets hit with tornadoes, and when it does, they're usually far weaker than that one yesterday.

That '99 tornado was said to be the highest recorded wind in the history of the earth. Yesterday looked much the same.

And people like you just dont get it..... they died in the basement, where there are pipes. In a shelter there would be no such thing so they would not drown.

It amazes me that people like you refuse to spend money on basic safety for your children in tornado ally, but have no problem giving billions in handouts to big business... pathetic.

And why doesn't the governement spend every last dollar making sure every home and school in California is perfectly earthquake resistent, every home along the eastern seaboard and Gulf Coast can stand up to a Hurricane, and every inch of our entire coastline be tsunami-proof? I mean, what were they thinking in Japan with that development there for a tsunami to destroy?

We are not talking about homes, but a limited amount of schools for children. Gezz come on, if there is anything you should spend money on in a disaster prone area, that is to protect people and especially children.. It is not expensive to turn the cellar of a school into a temporary shelter and the 10 to 15 minutes warning they did get, should be more than enough to get children into those shelters.

Let me ask you.. what is 1 childs life worth? Spend 1 million dollars or 10 to make this shelter, and save 20 kids lives... is that not worth the money?
