I think its a case of projection
THe fact is tremendous physical skills are rare as is genius so its even more rare to see the both blessings in one person
but looking back through HS-an extremely competitive prep school where half the class of 50 went to Ivy level colleges and the guy who was second from last managed to make Phi Beta Kappa at Vanderbilt (he was smart-but didn't work hard in class) there was no correlation between intelligence and strength the strongest dude in the class went to the U of Chicago and got a PhD in a medical related field from Stanford.
One of the top students in my class in college was a HS all-America football player who was 2X all ivy and went to Harvard medical school
