APDST answered all these questions last night. The fact that you want to defend what the IRS did here speaks volumes about you. You are possibly farther left than anyone on this forum.

"Speaking about the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative political groups, House Speaker John Boehner on Wednesday said "clearly someone violated the law" and questioned who would be put in prison for the agency's actions. "My question isn't about who's going to resign, my question is, who is going to jail?" Boehner said at a press briefing with Republican leaders. President Barack Obama on Tuesday night said some IRS employees failed to be impartial in their work and that they must be held accountable."

Never has there been a better example of why we need to scrap the tax code and simplify it so you don't need an H&R Block cubicle bunny or some tax attorney to do your taxes.

It should be as economist Paul Kirchoff had proposed in Germany... most of the public need nothing more than a beer mat to report what we earned and owe. That way we can dispose of a huge chunk of our now proven diseased KGB styled IRS, and the fear they strike in the masses... just as the KGB had done.

Just think what these bastards will do when ObamaKare kicks in???????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????

Your friendly neighborhood government at work. Isn't it wonderful?

Yes, revise the tax code. But even more important, see to it that the IRS doesn't exercise any Obamacare authority.

It is not illegal for the IRS to ask for that information, but it would be wrong for them to share it with the general public. Sort of like how the hospital can have your medical records, but they cannot hand them out to others.

    You are still wrong.
Right! No law was broken and that's why a congressional hearing is going, as we speak. Because no law was broken. Right!...LOL!!

Ever heard of the Hatch Act?

Obvious Child is also an IRS defender. He thinks they should be expanded even further... so they get every penny. He has no facts that "fraud has almost certainly increased"... typical weasel words stated without any factual backup. He also thinks scraping the code is idiotic... and then tells us we are morons for not understanding the current code.

We can create an abortion the size of Hillary Clinton and foist it on the public using backdoor tricks and without reading the law (ObamaKare), but we can't scrap the tax code and in the process reduce the size of the KGB/IRS... and make the new code so simple the public can understand it without hand holders? Not in OC's werld.

Audits of individuals have significently declined over time yet fraud has almost certainly increased. What we are seeing is similar to what happened to the SEC. Lack of funding and lack of staff let all kinds of **** through and we pay for it in the end. The simple answer is to actually fund and staff the collection agency that is the IRS.

Regardless if it was back in 2004 or today, somebody should see jail time. Even if it is targeting a group that I really don't care about. They have rights just like me. But lets not sit here and act like this is the first time this has happen.

Are you claiming that the right wing doesn't care if the IRS is used for illegal purposes?

We're not talking about audits. If it were just a matter of audits, it would be perfectly leagal.
