Only if it is against their group. Lets not be naive here. Both sides do this for political gain. In 2004, the dems were the ones outrage and the right just kept quiet about it. Now today it is the GOP's turn to throw snot and cry and the dems are trying to down play it.

I was outrage back in 2004 and I am outrage today. We shouldn't have party affiliation in all aspects of our life. Somebody should have went to jail back then and somebody should go to jail now.

    Just my opinion.

You can not isolate groups in a partial way regardless if it is the tea party or the NAACP. That is illegal !!!!!

Auditting one single org isn't illegal. Get with the program.

If there is a charge of wrong doing, the IRS is perfectly within it's authority to conduct an audit.

If there's any real evidence that it's political motivated, you would be right. In the case of NAACP, there was a charge and that charge was followed up on. How many other black NFP's were auditted at the same time, simply because of their race, or politics?

"Speaking about the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative political groups, House Speaker John Boehner on Wednesday said "clearly someone violated the law" and questioned who would be put in prison for the agency's actions. "My question isn't about who's going to resign, my question is, who is going to jail?" Boehner said at a press briefing with Republican leaders. President Barack Obama on Tuesday night said some IRS employees failed to be impartial in their work and that they must be held accountable."

Regardless if it was back in 2004 or today, somebody should see jail time. Even if it is targeting a group that I really don't care about. They have rights just like me. But lets not sit here and act like this is the first time this has happen.

Well it's prior to the existence of this board. I was unaware of it, but if they got audited because of their political affiliation, then that would be wrong.

So, your position is: it doesn't matter what the IRS does because republicans are scumbags?

First of all please don't bring race into this okay.

Secondly, there was a charge brought to the IRS attention.

So please again tell why 2004 targeting was different from 2013?

See this is what gets me annoyed when taking to partisan people. You chose the first part of my statement and decided to ignore the rest. If you read what I said completely, you will see that I am not taking sides.

Do anyone else see me saying that "it doesn't matter what the IRS does because republicans are scumbags" in the quoted statement above? Please reply.
