DC Turns On Obama

Republicans have waited five years for the moment to put the screws to Obama

Yes, yes they have. They've been doing nothing else for the last five years except try to do that. And they will spend the next three still trying to do that when this fails to.

By the way, I believe the AP scandal is a legitimate scandal. But you guys have been going on for so long now that it's hard for me not to roll my eyes and I believe it's a legitimate scandal!

Kinda like the boy who cried wolf, huh? Or rather, the Republicans who cried tyrant.

There might be something to the AP issue, though there's a lot of information missing. And there is something to the IRS scandal. But neither is career destroying, except maybe for the Bush appointee, Lois Lerner, who was in charge of this office of the IRS.

Yeah the main stream media listened to Obama's lies and repeated then and lied more to cover what he left out of his coverup lies. But now even the main stream is saying "wait a minute, this lying is getting out of hand even for us lairs"

Even Jon Stewart. ;)

Stewart: C'mon Obama, You Don't Actually Find Out Everything Through the News

For the second night in a row last night, Jon Stewart hammered the Obama administration about mounting scandals. Last night specifically, Stewart called out the administration's bogus claim that they find out about all of their scandals, IRS, Fast and Furious, DOJ tapping phones of reporters, etc. through "news reports.".....snip~

come on GOP leave the black man alone you know we need to make sure the first person of color to hold the office of President has a favorable legacy.

What's the Lincoln quote ? " All men can stand adversity, but if you truly wan't to test a man give him power "

Seems fitting.

Not so much with the legacy and more with the not brick walling every attempt to get out of the recession so they can blame it on the president for electoral gain. They're quite welcome to go after him, they're not welcome to go after him at the expense of doing their jobs.

Lol...of course, it's Bush's fault. Fortunately the finality of these scandals won't be decided by a guy on the internet.

I'm sure they can walk and chew gum at the same time. And they are doing their job they are making sure this failed President wont screw up this nation any more then he already has They are doing what they was elected to do. Dam them for doing what their constituents voted them into office to do don't they know they need to lie to them like the democrats do

No, it's Lois Lerner's fault. It's her job to oversee these sorts of things. She is in charge of this part of the IRS. Trying to link it to the president is silly, however. He didn't even appoint her.

so what did Lois Lerner have to gain for doing so? did some one from the TeaParty run over her dog? the first rule in an investigation is means motive and opportunity. So what was the IRSs motive? if you cant show motive you don't have crap. So who had the motive especially in an election year is what you need to ask your self, but of coarse you will ignore motive because it points right at Obama and or his staff

There just isn't much sense in going back and forth with tererun or Paschendale.

There isn't anything either wouldn't defend Pres. Obama on.

It's a shame he has to try so hard to reenforce negative stereotypes. Next we'll find of he's got a couple of babymommas out there. I wonder if, when he is out shooting skeet "all the time" he holds the shotgun sideways too. You know, like it came out of the box. Although some pump shotguns will not cycle that way. No such problem with those evil semi auto assault shotguns.

Its just as racist for not investigating some one only because of the color of their skin as it would be for doing so

And yet his supporters elected him without having any idea who he was. I agree that liberals are racists.

Kinda like Holder and the Philly New Black Panthers.

Who's leaping to conclusions ?

By the standard alone of "the bucks stops here " there is enough evidence to prove he's a sorry leader.

Look at their MO, the blame always falls back on some nameless, faceless low level bureaucrat, who never faces the consequences.

Nice lesson our President is teaching the kids these days. You don't have to be held responsible if through dishonest finger pointing you can lead the blame away from yourself.

I didn't vote for Obama, because I knew based on his books, his past associates and his political ideology that he was essentially a dishonest man with a huge axe to grind.

Not a man who would wan't to become President and make America stronger, but a man who in every thread of his beings holds contempt for how this Country was founded.

I don't need to refer you back to his " charter of negative liberties comment" do I ?

So its no surprise to me, nor should it be to any other American that he's mired in scandal with a very sick economy to return to, and that his response to these scandals is to basically act like a 5 year old who just got caught with his hands in the Cookie Jar.

Who knows, maybe something good will come out of this mess, maybe all of these low information voters who ignored red flag after red flag during his 2008 Candidacy, who blindly bought in to all of the Bush blame will learn a valuable lesson.

That CHARACTER MATTERS.

But then again, so many Americans have devolved down into these ignorant intellectual lazy life forms who rely on the Media to do their research for them.

As long as they have some electronic device in front of their face and a McDonalds within 3 miles of their home life is good.

Flibble flabble. The above was all flibble flabble.

Is there anything concrete connecting the IRS story to Obama?

Axelrod: Government "So Vast," Obama Can't Know About Wrongdoing | RealClearPolitics

politico's perspective:

Obama’s critics now have a narrative — a way of connecting four discrete episodes to a larger point about this president’s leadership style and values. In other words, they didn’t merely happen on his watch but were in important ways caused by his watch.

And for the first time, this anti-Obama storyline is being presented in a way that might seem reasonable to people who are not already rabid anti-Obama partisans.

The narrative is personal. The uproars over alleged politicization of the IRS and far-reaching attempts to monitor journalists and their sources have not been linked directly to Obama. But it does not strain credulity to suggest that Obama’s well-known intolerance for leaks, and his regular condemnations of conservative dark-money groups, could have filtered down to subordinates.

The narrative is ideological. For five years, this president has been making the case that a growing and activist government has good intentions and can carry these intentions out with competence. Conservatives have warned that government is dangerous, and even good intentions get bungled in the execution. In different ways, the IRS uproar, the Justice Department leak investigations, the Benghazi tragedy and the misleading attempts to explain it, and the growing problems with implementation of health care reform all bolster the conservative worldview.

To stain reputations, presidential controversies usually need some kind of powerful connection to the style and values of the person occupying the Oval Office. Watergate was not a random scandal — it flowed directly from President Richard M. Nixon’s paranoia and contempt for law. No one who knew Bill Clinton in the decades before he became president would have been surprised that his second-term scandal involved weaknesses of the flesh. Under George W. Bush, the misjudgments at the outset of the Iraq War reflected an instinct for certitude and a disdain for dissenting views that started at the top.

In Obama’s case, the narrative emerging from this tumultuous week goes something like this: None of these messes would have happened under a president less obsessed with politics, less insulated within his own White House and less trusting of government as an institution.

Obama's dangerous new narrative - Alexander Burns and John F. Harris - POLITICO.com

some more thoughts from the chin stroking ponderers at politico and their experts:

"this reinforces the whole conservative argument that obama, or liberalism in the day of obama, or however you want to call it, represents something new and menacing"

"this lurch to the left, this hungry welfare state that’s now so out of control and is threatening our liberties"

"the fact that these controversies all arrive simultaneously could also help republicans pass a fairness test that previously has thwarted them"

cons think of govt like dmv and irs, libs like social security and the fire dept---irs and ap make americans think the former

how can you trust the govt with your health care if you can't feel safe from its politics

matt bennett, vp of third way:

“My view is that when Obama said, we’re going to have the most open and transparent and ethical government in history, he absolutely meant every word of that and means it today. But the government is a gargantuan, sprawling enterprise that does stupid things every day and some of that comes to light. Because all big enterprises do stupid things,” Bennett said.

He continued: “From Obama’s perspective and from the perspective of Democrats running for president in the future, it is very, very hard to figure out how to stop this kind of thing, because it’s probably not doable.”

you need to dump this guy

wapo this morning:

What the IRS scandal means for health-care reform

The revelation that the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny has given fuel to Republican complaints of government overreach. It’s also given them more ammunition in their fight against the implementation of President Obama’s health care law.

Half of the billion dollars allocated to cover implementation of the Affordable Care Act went to the IRS. Starting in 2014, the agency will distribute subsidies for health-care coverage through state exchanges and issue penalties against individuals who do not get or businesses that do nor provide insurance.

The president’s 2014 budget calls for $1 billion more for the IRS, $440 million of which is intended to help with ACA implementation. A big chunk of that would go to updating and creating new information technology.

“What’s happened heightens fears about how the IRS will handle taxpayer information and wield its power when it enforces Obamacare starting next year,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told the Washington Examiner.

And, Tennessee Republican Rep. Diane Black tweeted: "IRS scandal begs the question: how can POTUS continue 2 support expansion of IRS power thru enforcement of Obamacare?"

choo choo!

Flibble Flabble ? GENIUS !!!! What a stinging retort.

Your'e seriously expecting random strangers on the internet to come up with information that's being kept close to the chest of Obama and his Chicago thugs ?

I mean if the House Committee who's in charge of investigating the IRS scandal can't get information on who's connected, as Obama and Holder and Hillary all claim they were somewhere else and it was done without their permission or even knowledge, how the hell is one of us going to come up with it ?

Obama, your President, has taken the approach of a 5 year old who just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Distraction , lies and disconnection.

Again, why did you folks elect him ?

If it's not concrete information, it's flibble flabble. All of the above is also an excellent example of flibble flabble.

I can already see from your posts that I could spend the next eight pages criticizing Obama's presidency, but ask for just one tangible connection between him and the IRS story and I'm "Obama's butt boy."

. . .the output of rush limbaugh's brain?

The GOP loves the IRS, period. It needs the IRS. How is the GOP going to get oil spill lawsuits paid for and multimillion dollar subsidies out to its big grain processor donors and start multi-trillion dollar wars if not by taxing the middle class. Hello?!

As for Obamacare, the GOP will vote to keep it, because the GOP is backed by insurance cos. and insurance cos. like ObamaCare.

Paschendale agreed with me, in this very thread, that the AP story was a legitimate scandal.

He agreed with you but with qualifiers.

As rampant left wing apologist do, he offered up some measure of disagreement but completely glossed over Benghazi. Whether you guys on the left like it or not, Benghazi is a REAL scandal.

People died after numerous calls for reinforcements were turned down, after a 12 foot hole was blown into the consulate compound wall, calls for back up were ignored, people were told to stand down.

And Obama's and Hilary's and Susan Rice's answer to this was......to manufacturer a false narrative ? Hillary...what a lying scum of the earth bitch..looked right into the face of the Father of the Seal who died trying to do what the US govt refused to do and told him " we're going to arrest and prosecute the guy who made that video " ?

And you folks want to elect her in 2016 ? Aren't you tired of your politicians being exposed as scumbags ?

Benghazi isn't a scandal, but his response to it sure does feed those who think it is. Obama is utter crap at crisis response and damage control. He couldn't decide what the talking point after the attack should be, and couldn't get everyone in his administration on the same page so that six people were saying eight different things. It was embarrassing to watch, I admit.
