White House in damage control mode as potential scandals pile up [W:378]

Your post here clearly demonstrates that you don't understand how the link dispproves your previous claim AND this one. The fact is....tax dollars DON't go back to the people who are paying them. The Red States are taking a disproportionate amount back.

Read comprehension problem? Where does it say anything about a California bailout. California has the 9th largest economy in the WORLD. California has been bailing out this country for years.

California probably ought to pay off its own debt then and stop taking money from the Federal Govt. to cover their short fall. When was the last time that California has a Republican legislature? Keep sending those California businesses to TX as we love the economic growth they bring to the state. What a great economy you have, too bad you cannot employ your own people

I'll give you this from even an extreme right-wing source: Calif. Economy Remains 9th Largest in World

Aw yes, California and liberal fiscal responsibility??

Report: California

We are doing that with a Democrat in the Governor's office....and sorry Con....the myth about California businesses fleeing to Texas has been debunked numerous times. There is a reason that Texas has more people living in poverty than most of the rest of the country and why your education system ranks among the worst.

BTW....you still haven't addressed the fact that you were completely wrong (as usual) about Red states propping up the blue ones. You wanna address that...or at least admit that you didn't know what you were talking about?

It would seem that liberals claiming that higher taxes reduce debt has also been debunked as your state has the highest taxes in the nation and the highest debt in the nation. You must be so proud, further you have debunked nothing regarding businesses fleeing California other than try to pass off your opinion as fact. You seem to have the same economic background as "your" President

It has been debunked numerous times when you make the claim. Some businesses have left California, but new ones have come. It pretty much is an even exchange...not the doomsday that you guys have been predicting for 30 decades. If you understood California you would know that the main part of California's debt started with Prop 13 which capped property taxes. There are good and bad parts about prop 13, but the bottom line is it cost the state a lot of revenue.

Care to address how you were wrong about Red states propping up the blue ones.
Care to address how you claim California's economy is horrible when it is the 9th ranked in the world
Care to address the Texas economy in relation to California?

Yeah....thought not.

Red states collect what they are due for the cost of govt. programs i.e. expansion of unemployment benefits by the Federal Govt. Unfunded mandates were outlawed when Clinton signed on to the contract with America

California's economy ranking 9th in the world is irrelevant when the state has the highest number of people on California minimum wage and the highest debt in the nation with the highest taxes.

Texas economy is booming and paying for itself. California is stagnant and creating debt.

Well then, debunk those myths once again.

As you thrill to the spin from the Governors Office, please also post figures related to the defered pension liabilities for State Employees...

LOL....your link is two years old and California ranks way ahead of Texas on your own link. Try again.

Btw...I LOVE your Conservative spin on explaining that Red States taking more for every dollar than they put in is getting their "due". Now we understand why you guys think that structuring tax bases so that the wealthy get the biggest tax breaks and incentives at the expense of the middle/working class is nothing more than the wealthy getting their "due". Sometimes you just make it way too easy.

No need to try at all, TX doesn't have the debt that California has nor the taxes.

David Crane: California's Pension Fiasco and the Great Nondisclosure of 1999 - WSJ.com

California ranks 15th per capita among all states for state and local property taxes collected.

State and Local Property Tax Collections Per Capita by State, Fiscal Year 2009 | Tax Foundation

That Texas pays higher state and property taxes per capita than California. I guess so if thats your point.

Naw. Missed it, but I'm not surprised. Considering what you folks have done to my fair state, I've come to expect it.

The point is the Progressive meme about Prop 13 has been evicerated so many times, it's surprising how willing some are to float that boat again.

No it hasn't. Ask pretty much an economist and they will tell you that much of California's financial woes were caused by prop 13. Like I said, there are some parts of prop 13 that were necessary, such as capping to keep older folk from losing their homes. But prop 13 needs to be modified to take the commercial cap out.

What you prove with every post is that liberals are the selfish ones, whatever benefits them is what is important, not what benefits the economy. You have no understanding why unemployment is so high, the stock market is so high, why corporation profits are so high but none of that matters as long as you are ok.

Again total ignorance, always try to justify higher spending by higher taxes, never do what people have to do in their normal life, live within their means. The state of California's fiscal problems stem from the European model where everything is covered by the state taxpayers. A novel idea would be to actually cut spending, generate surpluses and pay off your debt but no liberals would rather sink under their own welfare weight. There isn't much difference in the entitlement mentality of Europe and the entitlement mentality of Californians and I see California going the same way as Greece

As usual....you are living in a backwards fantasyland.

You obviously have zero understanding of California. What "entitements" do we have in California that are unique to California. And you are aware, are you not that massive cuts have been made to programs in California. But....you probably aren't educated on those things or would simply choose to ignore it.

30% of California's manufacturing jobs have left the state over the last 20+ years. Despite you laughable claims to the contrary, more high paying manufacturing jobs are leaving the state, and California is ranked last in terms of it's business environment.

And you want to increase property taxes on commercial property, despite per capita property tax revenue that is greater than 35 other states?

What, you want 1 in 4 on the state government dole, rather than the current 1 in 7?
