IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups[W:484,732]

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups in 201

Ah yes, more reaching down into the muck when nothing of substance is available.

Let's see if I can get down to that level....

When your side learns how to earn a decent income, perhaps the IRS will be viewed as something other than an avenue to get free money through earned income credits.

thanks for the laugh
my side - me - retired 10 years ago at age 50
but thank you for covering the cost of my federal retirement

but while i was earning that retirement my job was to help people become successful in business so that there was something to be collected by the IRS

again, appreciate the laugh

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups [W:484

Not on me. The guy was clearly trying to dance around the question.

You know this doesn't even speak to the IRS leaking donors list from Conservative organizations.

Illegally to the Democrat party and to left wing activist organizations.

I mean the IRS targeting Conservative groups is only the tip of the ice berg.

Agreed.

To the point, it's obvious by Rep Kelly's comments that questions were asked and were not answered. He said as much in the short snippet offered in the video.

What's laughable is for someone to claim objectivity by forming a conclusion based on obviously incomplete facts.

As Rep. Kelly put it, people are terrified when the IRS comes knocking, either by letter, or by phone.

That is a fact.

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups [W:484

LOL !!

Please look up the definition of objective.

It doesn't mean coming to a conclusion based on cherry picked data to back your political agenda.

With a list of Conservative groups, no liberal or leftist or progressive groups were targeted, AND the revelation that the IRS leaked donor list to Democrats and to left wing activist groups your " objective " opinion is they committed no wrong doing ?

Lol.....

bull ****
that list was replete with organization names including 'patriot'
the progressives were represented

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups [W:484

watch again
the congressman asked only one question - for which he awaited an answer - during the entire five minutes of his diatribe
I don't care if he asked no questions. he Spoke Truth to Power and the standing ovation proves it

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups [W:484

would you call having the word "Progressive" in a groups name as a sign of political affiliation? why wasn't that word on the targeting list? only words that was in that targeting list are conservative buzz words why wasn't there and liberal buzz words on that list? why didn't any conservative organization get approved in the last 27 months and liberal groups got approved in less then 9 months

share with us the complete list of organization names which were on the BOLO list
until you do so and you can prove that only conservative groups were represented therein, your argument is without basis
as usual

LOL

You know, it's been my experience that those who need to resort to claims about wealth and success in order to gain credibility on an anonymous blog, have neither.

Do carry on.

you insisted that those of my ilk had to rely on handouts and not something earned'
now you should know better since i have disabused you of your foolish notion
while still laughing

Ilk? I don't recall using the word ilk.

Also, I never wrote anything about not earning anything.

However, you were the one scooping your dinner from the feed trough, so I mearly reached down to a level you would likely identify with.

As to incomes, again, do you really think claims on an anonymous blog mean anything to someone, other than you?

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups in 201

Interesting.

I suspect what many people saw while viewing this particular video, was evidence that the only sanctimonious bastard at the hearing was the one who was directed to be there to answer questions, and clearly did not. Seems he was called to the mat because of it.

What Rep. Kelly said about sitting on the other side of the table from an IRA auditor should send a chill down every taxpayers spine.

I guess that reality gets lost on some.

Having that stooge sit there to take a little heat is one thing but there's something we should all remember ...

So there are a lot of left wing groups with the words 'Tea Party' in their name?

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups in 201

I've missed your satirical take on things my friend.

That's what gets me about witness testimony from guys like Miller.
The Dems on the committee ask if anyone told him to target Conservative groups.
Now you know that they know that he's not gonna say "Yeah, they told me at the job interview that I gotta nail 'em all".
It's not done that way.
You have to already know the answer to be able to extract anything from the guy.

Absolutely bubba.

One of the offices involved is not far from me here in So Cal. It's an armpit office. Kind of a regional thing in a city called El Monte.

No way some IRS office worker in El Monte has an epiphany and decides to target Tea Party groups and others of similar political "persuasion" without orders from on high.

Astounding anyone is attempting to suggest otherwise.

Ok, name all of the " Obama supporting Progressive Groups" that were targeted.

And you didn't comment on the IRS releasing the names on donors list to Democrats and Left Wing groups. That's illegal by the way.

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups [W:484

Not that what the IRS did was right....but where were all of you who are "outraged" over this, when the IRS was targeting left-wing groups during the Bush years?

When the IRS targeted liberals - Salon.com

The selective outrage is very telling.

Re: IRS apologizes for inappropriately targeting conservative political groups in 201

Show me some evidence that legislators are taking bribes.

I give you Charles Rangel (D) NY.

Charlie Rangel Hides Income and Assets - WSJ.com

This long time trash came into office after serving in the Army during VN, and certainly wasn't worth anywhere near what this report shows....So, where'd he get it?

In fact, I did speak out against that when it happened....And the fact is dude, that something like this is not along partisan lines. If you do a simple search you'll see about every decade regardless this sort of thing takes place.

But, if you really want to continue the hyperpartisan blather that Chris Matthews spews then by all means....I'll stop reading....

I give you credit....you are different than most. I agree. The IRS shouldn't be targeting any group, be it Liberal or Conservative...but the "outrage" does seem a little disengenous coming from people who sat unsurprisingly silent when the same thing took place under Bush.

Here's the thing: We're in the here-and-now, and "Yeah, but they did it too" doesn't work. Let's talk about what's happening NOW.

If you read carefully, I indicated that it is bad either way....but forgive me if your and many others "outrage" seems a wee bit disengenous when the outrage only occurs when it fits your political agenda.

Best smack down ever

I wonder just how far the Cincinnati office went, and how much it affected the election? They are responsible for the following states:

Arkansas, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
