If you look at some of the information they requested from the link above, it seems they went much farther with the request tan they needed to in order to approve or deny the application.
A lot of that information does not seem relevant to the application.
Why do they need to know so much about every employee or if the organization has had any contact with the news media?
I think we should remove tax exempt status for everything, and then remove corporate taxes altogether. This eliminates peoples problems with tax exempt status and simplifies the tax code so that only individuals incomes are taxed (no matter how they earn it).
The plot thickensAP Exclusive: Watchdog report says senior IRS officials knew tea party groups targeted in 2011 - The Washington Post
WASHINGTON — A federal watchdog’s upcoming report says senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups in 2011.
The disclosure contradicts public statements by former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, who repeatedly assured Congress that conservative groups were not targeted.
It doesn't matter if the act was perpetrated by low level employees or higher up. There needs to be an investigation. E-mails, phone records, memos, and the works need to be combed through and reviewed to find the person(s) responsible.

Sounds like liberals huh?
One of you will end up here next!
It's just a brand of Socialism like Coke and Pepsi and brands of soda. Just another branch on the Collectivist tree. Very telling that you're so eagerly defending the IRS acting like the Gestapo and being used as a political tool to harass and intimidate people politically
You're just googling things and linking the first random source you find. Comical and embarrassing. Like I said, you were going to lose this debate badly and you are.
