Jodi Arias guilty of 1st-degree murder

Jodi Arias guilty of 1st-degree murder - World - CBC News

Jodi Arias was convicted of first-degree murder Wednesday in the gruesome killing of her one-time boyfriend in Arizona after a four-month trial that captured headlines with lurid tales of sex, lies, religion and a salacious relationship that ended in a blood bath.
Arias, now 32, was charged with first-degree murder in the June 2008 death of Travis Alexander, 30, in his suburban Phoenix home. Authorities said she planned the attack in a jealous rage after being rejected by the victim while he pursued other women. Arias initially denied involvement then later blamed the killing on masked intruders. Two years after her arrest, she said it was self-defence.
    Any thoughts?

I really have nothing to add, she was guilty as sin.

I wonder if she'll take a stab at an appeal?

I don't think that she could cut it.

Is it sad I have such little faith that I was expecting her to get off?

Probably just me. Either way, hope she enjoys prison

A death penalty state? Is that on the table for sentencing?

Yes, but probably not, considering the jury's verdict...

Yes it is. I hope it's not considered, but it is up as an option.

I would be fine with her getting the death penalty. She's clearly guilty of a heinous crime. I'm glad that the right call was made though.

Re: Jodi Arias guilty of 1st-degree murder

Generally, regardless of guilt or innocence, a passionate defense lawyer will hug or at least take the hand of a client who suddenly receives a verdict that devastating. Even if only to send a message of humanity to the appeals court.

At the reading of the verdict, this lawyer wouldn't touch her, wouldn't even get near her, wouldn't even look at her. That is very poor attorney behavior. The message sent is that the lawyer really doesn't like her either.

Also sends the message that the attorney's focus was on herself as a lawyer, rather than any concern for the client. True or not, that is not the right message to send.

I see no reason to kill this girl. She is in custody and can't hurt anyone else. Why do some people want to kill her?
