    Good afternoon V1.1

I thought from the verdict there'd be a good chance she'd get the death penalty. They were 100% in agreement that she committed premeditated murder, they were just divided on whether or not she committed the murder during the course of a felony, that being breaking and entering the man's home. She seems entirely unsympathetic to me and Arizona doesn't strike me as a state where people give murderers a break.

I don't think we should give her the chance. She is clearly guilty. She lied about her story throughout the trial, never showed signs of remorse (that I'm aware of) and shows no evidence that she wouldn't be willing to kill again. She killed this man in a brutal and dark way on purpose, shows no remorse, and has lied and changed her story around. In my opinion that's reason enough to deem her dangerous and her actions alone merit being put to death.

Hmmm. I saw her cry several times during the trial. That is showing emotion. Something you don't see from the serial killer or mass murderer. Whether or not her tears are real or for selfish reasons, no one can really say.

Evidently, she wants the death penalty.

Jodi Arias said in a post-conviction interview with a TV station that she prefers the death penalty over life in prison.
Arias talked to Fox affiliate KSAZ in the courthouse minutes after she was convicted of first-degree murder. With tears in her eyes, she said she feels overwhelmed and that she was surprised because she didn't believe she committed first-degree murder.
She said in the interview that she would "prefer to die sooner than later" and that "death is the ultimate freedom."

People in custody, especially people doing life with nothing to lose can and do kill again.

She can hurt other people. She could kill again in prison, either guards or other prisoners, or she could escape and kill someone else. If she's given the death penalty, it is absolutely certain she'll never kill anyone else again.

Personally, I'm glad she was found guilty. Based on the information I saw she certainly seemed awfully guilty.

I never said I didn't think she was guilty. I said the death penalty is an inappropriate punishment in this case. You cannot prove that she would kill again either. Your speculations don't really mean anything in the big picture of things. We can't kill people because of what we THINK they might do in prison.
