Delaware on Tuesday became the 11th state to permit same-sex marriage, the latest in a string of victories for those working to extend marital rights to gay and lesbian couples.

The marriage bill passed the State Senate by a vote of 12 to 9 Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s a great day in Delaware,” said Gov. Jack Markell, a Democrat, who signed it within minutes of passage before an overjoyed crowd of activists. “I am signing this bill now because I do not intend to make any of you wait one moment longer.”

Same-sex couples will be eligible for marriage licenses on July 1.

Congratulations Delaware!

Seems like another state every month.

Congrats Delaware! :D

I think the next up is Minnesota. Last I checked, the MN House will be voting on Thursday with sources in both the House and Senate saying that the bill has a strong chance of passing in each of their respective chambers.

And the bill sponsors in the Illinois House have stated they will bring the bill to a vote immediately once they have the votes. :)

This is the way it should be--states deciding for themselves without having Big Brother force it upon them.

Yay!!!

Gonna have a Delaware beer tonight to celebrate!!

Minnesota looking to follow shortly, I'm proud to say. Close vote though, hope it works out.

Congratulations Delaware!

Seems like another state every month.

Looks like I might have to look into the Delaware/D.C. area in the future to expand my culinary management compan in the future..
I'm in the process of opening a catering/banquet hall in Seatle and hopefully we can open up before the end of the month.
I freaking hate dealing with construction contractors.

I really have my eye on San Francisco. There's a very great local chef who I've been dying to go into business with.Has lots of connections in the gay community.
Gay weddings comprise about 12 percent of my wedding revenue, and tha'ts revenue I have no problem pursuing.
I know I can make a lot of money in Cali.
Sorry it's gonna have to take a Federal judge to open up Cali to enterprising businessmen like myself.

All right! Actually know someone from Delaware who hopes to benefit from this one day, go figure.

An irrelevant slab of libtardia goes full gaystapo.

That's nice. have they abolished racist and sexist affirmative action, yet?

And another irrelevant post by someone who has no education on this particular issue.

It's irrelevant to point out double standards among the gaystapo? really? i guess if i were a propagandist for the gaystapo, that might be my pitch. Sadly, I'm not.

It's irrelevant because you have no knowledge of this issue based on the words you have chosen in your post and because of the analogies you attempt to form but completely fail in doing so.

What a bunch of inane verbal diarrhea.

i hope you wiped... with something other than the constitution.

As a resident, born and raised in Delaware, I'm rarely proud of my state. In this case though, I think we've made a great step in the right direction.

I'm hoping a boat-load of idiot Christine O'Donnell supporters are calling their real estate agents and putting their houses up for sale first thing this morning.

It's nice when your state government does something right for a change.

Rock On Delaware. Rock On.

I take it you're against Fay's having a right to marry. Can you explain why?

In other words... as usual, you have nothing. Let us know when you gain some knowledge on this topic. Perhaps then you won't allow that lack of knowledge to cause you to have little logic in these types of discussions.

I have nothing?

where does delware sit on unconstitutional "affirmative action" or equally unconstitutional "hate crimes".

There is no constitutional protection for someone to screw someone else up the ass and then force a municipality/state to ordain it a "marriage".

it's all a bunch of fascist, left winger bull****.

Irrelevant to the issue. This issue is about SSM. Throwing in red herrings shows your lack of logic.

This demonstrates your continued lack of education on this topic. You don't even know the difference between a sex act and sexual orientation.

Are you a resident of Delaware?

How is it irrelevant that states make up rights that don't exist in the constitution and yet deny those rights that do exist?

Save us all another idoitic post of "you don't know anything, herp derp". Though I wonder if you have ever made a post that wasn't of that manner.

You do know how laws are created, correct? You seem somewhat confused on this issue. Also, your comparison is a red herring, so continuing to present it just continues to show your lack of logic.

Well, you don't know anything about this topic... and you prove it constantly. And I wonder if you ever make a post that isn't of the idiotic "liberal bad, conservative good" type. Because when you do (which seems to be all you do), it demonstrates how poor at debating you are.

congrats to Delaware. hopefully the SCOTUS rules decisively on this issue in coming months so that homosexuals are treated equally in every state.

I'll ask again since you seem to be ignoring my first question.

Are you a resident and tax paying citizen of Delaware?

If not - why do you care?

This law does not restrict anyone from anything. It does not prevent anyone from anything. It is not denying anyone anything.

Therefore you can not have any problems with it's signing.

Especially if you're not a resident of the state.

LOL. You don't even have basic reading comprehension. Where did i ever even make "an argument"? I asked a question(s).

You couldn't asnwer.

You resorted to your typical behavior of pretending no one but you knows anything beyond the nose on their face.

Congrats on your 82,304th post of the same old bull****.
