Let's not forget that according to Obama's own writings, Communist Frank Marshall Davis was his childhood "mentor" and a close family friend who also relocated to Chicago from Hawaii... But once again, Obama does not support his views either.

We've heard this all before and it just goes to show how right this is.
It does, you're certainly buying everything that's said about him.

Ayres was definitely an acquaintance. We don't know how close they were, only that they were on a couple of non-profit boards together, which doesn't mean much. I don't share the political views of every pastor that has preached at my church, I don't even particularly know the views of the pastor that married me. Davis relocated to Hawaii 13 years before Obama was born, so it's not like he moved there to be Obama's mentor. We don't know much about that relationship. You're choosing to believe the worst, and I'm choosing not to believe the worst. But we're both making partisan choices.

Do Tea Partiers think Bill Ayers is running for president again?

Stick with the teleprompter meme -- it's more current.

Yeah, that is very similar to the anti-goverment types preparing to fight against gubbamint tyranny, but the only difference is that the anti-goverment types have actually killed people....and just like Ayres, LaPierre wasn't even there.

I'm going to think that most would view an attempt at equivalism such as this as being astoundingly weak.
Trying to connect Ayers to Obama is astoundingly weak as well, but that hasn't stopped conservatives from doing it or even believing it, now has it?

    First comes irrational fear,
    then comes outrage,
    then comes firearms

The "illegal part of the Vietnam war was the "incursion" into Cambodia and Laos as commanded by President Nixon.
There was no authority do do so . No discussion or even knowledge in congress that the president was intending to overstep his office by waging war on other countries.
The only people in government who knew of this "incursion", where millions of tons of bombs were dropped on sovereign countries, were Nixon and the Joint Chiefs in the Pentagon.
These are the war crimes and illegal war maneuvers committed in our name under the banner of the Vietnam war.

Seriously, though, ther difference between Ayers and LaPierre, is that Ayers comtted treason. He should be tried and sent to the gas chamber for his crimes.
We don't gas people for not commiting murder, Apst.

It's true, Ayers didn't have the financial backing or lobbyists to get laws passed in his favor like LaPierre does.....but both strongly believe in their second amendment rights.....and civil rights....and of course, lets not forget freedom.

A guy who went out and committed crimes to try and mung things up for what he saw as an oppressive regime who was killing innocent people. Yup, it was illegal, and there are some similarities between him and terrorists who do the same thing even though he may have made effort to destroy unoccupied property. What do you do again? Oh yeah, you buy guns and do nothing. He may be a criminal, but he actually fought a fight. I will recognize the hypocrisy of a supposed pacifist fighting with violence, but isn't it the same hypocrisy of a supposed violent revolutionary who acts like a pacifist?

maybe you should do more because i think he has a job molding the minds of youth while you don't. Jealousy is a horrible thing.

You're either young and have never heard of the Ho Chi Minh trail or you're old enough to know and are uneducated. There were very good reasons to bomb the supply routes for the VC.

And btw, if you bone up on your history you'll find the bombings of Laos and Cambodia began under Johnson. Google Operartion Menu.
