Reid: More Funding Needed To Prevent ObamaCare From Becoming 'Train Wreck'

OK. France's system covers things of dubious therapeutic value and makes unrealistic assumptions. Do you think PPACA suffers from the same shortcomings?
And most important... the system is on life support... basically bankrupt.

The Democrats wrote, voted for it and Obama signed it, but it's jacked up because of the Republicans? Do you know how you sound right now?...LOL!!!

The Demokrats own ObamaKare. It's their sleazy backdoor (literally), read it to find out how much you'll like it... first step towards Single Payer.

But... Demokrats will be Demokrats... they'll just lie, lie and lie some more.

uh oh

another day, another problem

reuters:

But with "Obamacare" five months from show time, Democrats are worried about whether enough Americans will sign up to make the sweeping healthcare overhaul a success - and what failure might mean for Congress heading into the 2016 presidential race.

Some of the law's main advocates fear that not enough of America's 49 million uninsured will know about health coverage offered in their own states. Even if they do, new insurance plans may not be attractive to young, healthy consumers needed to offset an expected influx of older and sicker patients.

Only a handful of states are beginning campaigns to promote the online health insurance marketplaces created by the law. Known as exchanges, the markets will offer private coverage at federally subsidized rates to individuals and families with low-to-moderate incomes, with enrollment set to begin October 1.

Obamacare is on the horizon, but will enough people sign up? | Reuters

add progressive public-option warrior ron wyden, oregon, to the long list of democratic senators (shaheen, cardin, harkin, baucus, rockefeller, reid, schumer) speaking out about their fears

obama is a really bad implementor

"there is reason to be very concerned about what's going to happen with young people, if their premiums shoot up i can tell you that is going to wash into the united states senate in a hurry," worries wyden

cbs---americans want answers

cri---falling apart in the implementation

reuters---"democrats are frustrated about the lack of details surrounding administration plans to promote the exchanges"

have YOU heard yet what the white house plans to do

cbs hasn't, the retiring chair of senate finances hasn't

the exchanges must be up and running october 1

how do YOU spell incompetence?

"why in late april can't they show us any of what they've got planned, the rollout plan should already be in existence"

no?

reuters---"big insurers appear wary of participating"

"most states have balked at medicaid expansion" (capitalizing on chief justice roberts' escape)

the shop program for small business has been put off a year, meaning vulnerable entrepreneurs will be stuck in exchanges with no competition

all betrayals of bedrock pledges promoted by the president of broken promises

"meanwhile, the enrollment effort is under threat from months of delay, a congressional republican embargo on new funding and worries about how affordable the new plans will be, according to analysts, lawmakers, congressional aides and former officials"

you hear that as spin?

you better get off at the next stop

choo choo!

Let's not force the analogy too far. The Republicans created the problems we have with PPACA. They obstructed and obfuscated the process of developing health care for all and they distorted and diverted its supporters efforts to create it. Don't blame the Democrats for whatever problems it faces. Blame the Republicans.

Arguably the dumbest thing I have read on these boards. I can picture you sitting at you keyboard typing that drivel and laughing your ass off saying to yourself "I can't believe I'm typing this, lol".

Edited for brevity.

I have read SEVERAL reviews that claim much of the success of PPACA hinges on getting these 'young healthy' folks to purchase insurance. But the penalty; In 2014, the penalty is $95 or 1 percent of the individual’s income, whichever is greater doesn't seem much motivation. I can't comprehend believing a health insurance policy could exist with a monthly premium less that $8/mo. Are such things common? Yes the penalty does increase to $695 or 2.5 percent of income in 2016 but this is still ~$60/mo. which still seems like a bargain. I realize that paying the penalty leaves one exposed to medical care expenses but they are currently taking (and have been) chance now...what am I missing?

train wreck indeed.

His posts are akin to liberal blogspam blaming the Republicans for all of California's problems, even though they are one of the most liberal states ever. Nothing is the Democrats' fault if it isn't done literally 100% their way.

It hasn't been a free market for a long time, before the government got involved a doctor's house call was cheap. But by all means, make the common mistake of blaming the free market after the government ****s up a market in order to justify MORE government.

Please show me now government made health care more expensive.

Yes. The bill had to be written in a way to make resistant to their attempts to misrepresent it to the public. Remember the "death panels?" Even though they weren't, the benefit had to be removed because the Republicans were distorting the truth.

Please show me now government made health care more expensive.

They took away market competition back in the 70's, with HMO mandates, and requiring comprehensive coverage on all regular major medical plans. They took away competition from pharmaceuticals, by mandating that insurance companies cover drugs, and the same with physicians by requiring that physician office visits be covered. THis has made rates rise because the consumer is left out of the loop, doesn't need to shop around for a good value, and the consumer has no idea what he/she is spending, thus overutilization occurs.

Insurance companies wanted HMOs. You can't blame that on the government.

Secondly, has your analysis netted-out the medical benefits of mandated care? Maybe it reduces cost because problems are treated when they are less expensive.

I CAN blame the government for complying and mandating them. I don't care what the insurance companies wanted. The government makes it an issue of law.

I was a kid in the 60's. Back then, medical insurance covered unexpected catastrophic problems and emergencies. When you needed to go to the doctor, you made an appointment, and went and paid your $20 to be seen. If you needed a prescription, you went and got it filled. Doctors and pharmaceuticals had to be competitive in order to get you to pay for their services. Nowadays, that has been taken away, and in a free market, competition keeps prices at a minimum.

Sure; as soon as you give me something
other than unsupported assertions.

Unsupported assertions your bread and butter, as continuosly post your leftist drivel.
