Drug Agency Lowers Age For Next-Day Birth Control [W:297]

really, let the police find my daughter with porn magazines, beer , and know ........i knew of them

jail time!

You forgot about all the sex she's been having

Not exactly a good argument for you being in control of your child :lamo

since it is you jerry, and, and i believe your honest about this.

here goes to the question "does the state have authority over my child, a minor ....or do i"?

can the state deny my parental rights , and allow my child to purchase the drug and take it without my permission.
The best answer I have, is that our rights to control our children gradually diminish as they get older. The lines at 18 and 21 are pretty clear, but there are a few lines in the sand before 18. On one hand, a teen needs a parent to sign in order to drive or work. On the other hand, they don't need our consent to buy condoms, most OTC medications, or hell even fuel and matches.

I admit that I am a bit less sensitive to this issue than others since my children were taken from me and I've acclimated to having very little say in their lives. However, the point I would express to you, is that the world didn't end; they're doing just fine without me at the helm.

I believe the average teen using Plan-B will likewise be ok even if we parents aren't involved.

My niece was taking riding lessons at 15. One of the grooms, aged 21, started coming on to her. My sister went to the stable and told him she'd kill him if he talked to her daughter again. End of story.....................

More power for the individuals

But I see that you want the govt to have the power to force businesses to not engage in business freely

no... again wrong.

has nothing to do with the business, can the state override my parental rights. and you have answered yes, they can.....because you favor the power of the state.

individual?.......since when do you believe in that ,your a collectivist.

Your inability to control your children, who are drinking and having unprotected sex, is proof that you can't control your children
your not answering!.....you say i would not be held responsible by the police, for my child's actions......

You have no right to force a businessperson to not do something he has a right to do.

You favor giving the state the power to prevent people from doing what they want with their own property.

There is no evidence that use of Plan B has any effects on a womans fertility.

Since you cant figure out that regulating hormones and the potential for unnatural regulating of hormones affects fertility and Plan B works by regulating levels of hormones, I'll let you carry on parroting the same thing over and over. Words and facts don't seem to matter.

There is no evidence that Plan B has any effect on a woman's fertility. If you have any evidence to the contrary, please post it

You would not be held liable if your child purchases Plan B

not the question!

would i be held liable if my child breaks the law.

would i be held liable by the law, if i dont exercise responsibility over my child........porn, drugs, beer?

would government use force against me, if use my parental rights to keep my child from purchasing things i dont want her to purchase?

wrong, i am in favor i not letting my child purchase what i dont want her to purchase, without repercussions from the law.

It is not against the law for your child to purchase Plan B

At least, not anymore

i guess she made his b**** shrink up.

Needless to say, my niece eventually dropped out of the riding school because, subsequently, no one there would talk to her..........................

Moderator's Warning:
Stick to the topic and knock off the personal attacks.

if my child purchases a product of plan "b" and i dont want her to take it, ...she will not....as they say government be d***.

If a child wants to buy it, and she has the money, I don't see how anyone can stop her.

After all, no one could stop her from having unprotected sex

I see you like facts. I like facts too:
Fertility Following Discontinuation

A rapid return of fertility is likely following treatment with Plan B One-Step for emergency contraception; therefore, routine contraception should be continued or initiated as soon as possible following use of Plan B One-Step to ensure ongoing prevention of pregnancy.

"Birth Control Answer A22438
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Emergency contraceptives work in preventing pregnancy if taken within 48 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. It is common to have withdrawal bleeding within 5-7 days of taking the pill. It delays your normal periods due to the withdrawal bleeding occurring after taking it. Repeated use of these often can affect your fertility levels. You should get your withdrawal bleeding within 5-7 days of taking the pill. Start with regular birth control prescribed by your gynecologist after you get the bleeding to start having protection against pregnancy. Avoid having unprotected intercourse while being on the first birth control pill pack. Avoid use of emergency contraception often. Increased maternal age at pregnancy is also not good. Do not delay in having children. After age of 35 years, incidence of birth defects, chromosomal anomalies, early miscarriages, preterm labour, low birth weight in babies increase.
Take care. "

Birth Control Forum - Does plan b affect long term fertility?

It took 30 seconds to find one example.

I have not proposed that this is a common side affect, I have said that it is possible, just like with other hormone regulators, like the Pill. And most women don't choose to risk their chance for children later lightly. Teens however....may not even think about it.
