Drug Agency Lowers Age For Next-Day Birth Control [W:297]

I would have thought that this would be good news for the religious right nut jobs. This move will mean that there will be far fewer abortions going forward. Isn't that their goal?
In my honest opinion fifteen is too high. Twelve or thirteen would be much more realistic.
At what age should condoms be available? I don't believe there should be any age limit on buying condoms. It would make sense if the anti abortion people felt the same way ... but for some crazy reason they don't.

What will you do to stop your child from purchasing those?

we have laws to protect minors, as a parent its my duty to protect my child, and no government has the authority to rule over my parental rights.

What will you do to stop your child from purchasing those?

that is the governments job, to protect minors....by prohibition sales of drugs to children.

i dont put this into the federal government hands i put it into state.

Of course it matters. If you do this by shooting your child in the head, you're gonna have some 'splaining to do

:doh

Plenty of evidence exists that altering women's hormones affects fertility. Again...check with any fertility doctor. And there's plenty of data on how the Pill affects a woman's fertility for yrs when she goes off it and wants to get pregnant. And that is when it is used properly.

So your claim of Plan B, incorrectly used, not affecting fertility is baseless. The evidence already exists.

There is no evidence that use of Plan B has any effects on a womans fertility.

No, it is the job of parents to protect their children

No. I'm saying your struggle to be a parent is your struggle to be a parent. Stop trying to get everyone in on your personal lifestyle choices..............................

i have already state that if parents want their child to have the drug...fine.

but for the child to have the drug without my permission........not fine.

What will you do to stop your child from purchasing those?

again what if i have been successful at stopping my child, and she calls the police on me, should the police interfere with my parental rights?

No, it is the job of parents to protect their children

it is also the duty of government to protect the public......are you going to say no?

minors are not adults.

Right. Because you want everyone and everything to support YOUR lifestyle choices...................

Although there have been studies done which have been unable to establish a causal link between induced abortions and breast cancer, it has not been definitively ruled out either.

Also, who are you and others to interfere in the parent/child relationship, because that is exactly what this is doing. You have absolutely NO idea what kind of effects these pills would have on children long-term and you don't know how or if children might abuse them or perhaps mix them with other medications because they don't know any better. Stop pretending as if you know these things.

Let me know when you have some evidence to support your abortion banners website and the lies they tell.

No, you have not given a hypothetical

Tell me what you did to stop your child, and I'll answer your question

say i just told her to put the drug down, and had her come home with me from the store.

or i know she had the drug, and i flushed it.

Let me know when you have evidence to support that it is okay for young teens to be able to obtain and take this pill without the knowledge of their parents, or anyone for that matter. Don't try to bypass the parents in order to further your ideological agenda. For one thing, parents are responsible financially and otherwise for their children. If their children become pregnant or impregnate another, guess who's responsible? That's right, the parents/guardians are responsible; NOT the child. Why don't you let that soak in a bit.

How about the Mayo Clinic?

Do you think a 15 year old will know if they are allergic to the pill?

This just stinks on ice. We have a pharmaceutical company lobbying the Federal government in favor of this ruling to authorize a drug for use by an age group that isn't highly represented in the trials (can ypu have a trial when the sex is technically illegal?) without consulting a doctor. The drug has side effects, and can interfere with seizure medication, neither of which a parent can know and a 15 year old sure as hell won't think about.

But, you know, it helps kids have unprotected sex so a big thumbs up from the pro-choice crowd.

How do you know she had the drug, and what if she didn't listen to you?

And do you realize how ridiculous you sound saying your daughter would have unprotected sex without telling you, but would tell you that she's about to take Plan B?

i am giving you a hypothetical....should the police be able to interfere in my parental rights???????

The pagan people thought their parental rights included infanticide till the age of 4. Your people interfered with their parental rights. Why do your parental rights deserve any more respect than was shown theirs ?....................

The evidence that Plan B is safe has already been posted.

The evidence that Plan B is safe has already been posted.

It has been safe in clinical trials. It has never been offered to minors as an over-the-counter here in America. You have NO evidence.

And even THAT clinical trial evidence sucks. How many times do see commercials on television about medications taken off the market, even after clinical trials and them being available, after they find out that they cause some kind of health complications? And some of these drugs have been on the market for DECADES.

that is not the issue i am dealing in, since my daughter is a minor, and i have the parental right over her, can she the child use the police to override my parental rights, that prevent her from obtaining/ taking the drug?
