Re: Obama Administration Officials Threatened Whistle-Blowers On Benghazi, Lawyer Say
David Gregory of NBC's 'Meet the Press' asked the same question of John McCain. His answer was -
"Of the information concerning the deaths of four brave Americans," McCain replied. "The information has not been forthcoming. You obviously believe that it has. I know that it hasn't. And I'll be glad to send you a list of the questions that have not been answered, including 'What did the president do and who did he talk to the night of the attack on Benghazi?'"
Exactly. What is McCain alleging, that the President of the United States wanted those people to die? That's absurd.
He's arguing that information which is irrelevant is being covered up. He is manufacturing a cover-up, simply because it scores political points. The important parts of this investigation have been provided.
And to leftists, the question is kind of silly in itself....If we knew what was being covered up, there wouldn't be a cover up would there?
It's not a dodge, it's an honest question.
I think the JFK murder involved a cover-up. There are legitimate questions surrounding the situation that we can confidently say we don't know all of the IMPORTANT information. But, in this case, the "cover-up" is unrelated to the actual incident.
There are five basic questions that should be the foundation of any conclusive investigation. Who?
Terrorists
killed Americans
in Benghazi
on September 11th
because there is a "war" going on.
So far all we have is the "When?"
I think I just proved this statement inaccurate.
and you want to brush it off and say it doesn't matter.
No, I want to say let's focus on what's important, which is how to prevent more Americans from being killed. I want to focus on bringing those responsible to justice. I DON'T want to focus on what paper pusher in the State Department or what intelligence informant in the field didn't accurately assess the threat.
Oh, NOW you want to focus on preventing it from happening again? So unlike the 6 years of "Bush lied, people died" mantra we heard from your ilk for 6 years straight...Wonder why that is?
I've always wanted to prevent it happening again. I don't understand what Bush has to do with this, it was well-known before we ever invaded Iraq that not a single instance of a WMD had ever been confirmed. I'd like to prevent that from happening again as well, which is why I support Obama not rushing to invade Syria like a couple of Republicans have suggested.
No, it is one of the very investigative questions that MUST be answered to reach a reasonable conclusion, and prevent this in the future.
No it isn't. It's a red herring, a political ploy to discredit the administration. If I tell you Ryan Brown was responsible for not passing the intelligence on to Clinton, does it change a single thing?
The President has never been asked to deal with every military incident. But this is what this conspiracy talk is all about, you want to believe the President will be removed from his post, so you keep pushing this cover-up story, despite it being completely irrelevant to what happened. It's purely political.
What? Then you clearly don't want an independent, investigative media serving the people.
Investigating and finding out Ryan Brown was responsible does absolutely nothing. Investigating and finding out which processes have been reformed or not reformed could save American lives. Let's focus on what's important and quit the witch hunt.
So you agree that a special select committee should be convened?
There's already been multiple committees and investigations done.
Are you kidding here? At every turn this administration concocts crisis built on the deaths of American's to politically get their agenda through without proper scrutiny, or questioning.
And do you support that? Are you telling me you like it when they do it? Or do you find it beneath what we as Americans should aspire to? Or is it only okay when it pushes the agenda that you have?
Our government serves at the consent of the governed....What we should, or should not know is a matter of our representatives in congress.
Not when it deals with intelligence and not when it comes to the lives of people working out in the field.
Oh, Boo, freaking Hoo! This President has unprecedented support from a complicit media.
A) You have got to be kidding and B) You confirmed what I said.
Failing to come to the aid of American's under attack by enemy forces.
Lying about the events of the incident.
Covering up facts to further a political election.
Lying to the American people.
Stonewalling congress.
Collusion
Witness tampering
Abuse of power
For starters.
It isn't about "scapegoating" anyone
Yes it is, you've already made your agenda clear. You support the politicization of dead Americans to fire the President. That's what this ongoing conversation about a cover-up is all about.
When Obama took office in 2009 he promised that his administration would be "the most transparent, the most accountable in American history..." Yeah, not so much eh?
I'd argue in many ways government is more transparent, probably the most transparent in history. But no, he certainly hasn't lived up to the expectations in that area.
I believe that the maker of the video is still in Jail, No?
He violated his probation, No?
How about you libs stop trying to brush the deaths of 4 brave Americans under the rug like so much debris....It's offensive.
No one is brushing anything. We're just saying let's focus on what we can do to make sure more Americans aren't killed. I want to make safe Americans around the world...you want to get the President fired. Only one of us wants something relevant in this situation.
I know you're trying to be sarcastic here, but in mockery, comes grains of truth...Because this is exactly what liberals aiding and abetting the President's cover up are doing.
What? Seriously, what? By wanting to focus on how to protect Americans in the future, that's more important than knowing Ryan Brown didn't take the threat seriously enough?
It is really funny, because this is the exact line of thinking of hacks like Lawerence O'Donnell on MSNBC are parroting as useful idiots of this administration. And that you, and others come in here and just regurgitate the same line of thinking is an astonishing exercise in recognizing the effects of propaganda.
I don't watch MSNBC, who does? Besides you apparently.
But I cannot help but notice you engaged in a red herring fallacy. Do I need to educate you further on fallacies?
How? You can't prevent anything if you don't even want to know the truth
I do want to know the truth. I want to know why the process failed. I want to know how it can be improved. I want to know what needs to be done to prevent this in the future.
Unlike you and John McCain, I'm not interested in a witch hunt which does nothing to protect Americans. I want to protect Americans and you want to fire them. And you call me offensive.
Why has Congress been stonewalled? I don't understand this at all. Which facts are eventually going to be proven to be the ones that were so "inconvenient"?
Stonewalled? They've received over 25,000 pages of documents. They've held days of testimony from people like Clinton and Petraues, the two people most directly responsible for this situation. How is that being stonewalled?
We're going to find out what's been hidden.
What are you going to find? What is the absolute worst you expect to find? That President Obama ordered his administration to say it was a YouTube video to cover up the fact intelligence was missed about the severity of the threat? Would there be anything worse than that?
And I, and every other American deserves to know why we left these people there to die.
But you've already been told! How do you not understand this?
If you don't care, that speaks volumes about you, and none of it is flattering.
But you've already been told. Patreus told the country during his testimony. The fact you ignore what you already know, to push a conspiracy which at its very worst is what we already know, makes no sense to me.
