Concur. Its a "Long War" and they know how to practice it.

Look, there is no doubt that our economy could be crippled by assholes like this. But our economy is only part of the story. The rest of the story is our spirit. And on that side of the ledger? We won. If you know any way our country could withstand regular (albiet they rare) terrorist attacks and not be profoundly effected from an economic standpoint, please let us know.

Let's see... Miami, NY, Chicago, LA, Houston, Dallas, some of those big fly-over cities...

    What's that, 20 men?

Give me another 50 and I'll shut down the whole country. 2 platoons bringing the US to its knees. That's the precedence we've set.

At least no one was waterboarded nor was an army of Wayne LaPierre-type Barnie Fife's needed to apprehend "white-hat guy." Indeed, the subject was taken alive, due process will ensue, and he didn't become BBQ like other another recent famous American manhunt.

The three top terrorists in custody were waterboarded for verifiable information (not confessions) in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, representing a ticking time bomb scenario. Get over it!

We've set no precedent. Each occurrence will be handled in its own way. If you think terrorists planting bombs at public events should be handled differently? Please share your wisdom. You seem to think they should be handled as any other killing of three and maiming of 170. You know, like with nonchalance. What's your plan? Oh. You don't have one.

If terrorists start throwing bottle bombs at Starbuck's outdoor seating areas, planting bombs in shopping malls, kidnapping school children on their buses as they get taken to/from school, committing suicide with bomb vests at sporting events -- then we will be brought to our knees economically. There's nothing we can do about that. That's a fact.

But here? In Boston? We won.

My plan is the same as everyone else - catch them. And I object to locking down a city just because of 2 guys. I don't think the lockdown was necessary, I think it was an overreaction and will serve to embolden crazies.

Statistically speaking, those 2 guys were insignificant were it not for the ghost town they (actually, we) created.

It was a terrorist attack. The first in a long, long time. There was no lockdown. The coppers asked people to stay home. Asked businesses to close. They chose to do so. I don't call that a lockdown, I call that public cooperation.

Are you so anxious to throw mud on your own country that you look for reasons to denigrate its heroic efforts in this particular instance? I'm impatient with people like you. You are more concerned with having an argument than celebrating the heroic efforts of law enforcement. Our system worked. Absolutely positively perfectly. Boston did one helluva job. You don't think so? You want to find fault with them? Talk to the hand.

Oh puhleeze, enough of the dramatics. The city was shut down for one day. We had our city shut down by Mt St Helens volcano years ago and we seemed to have survived okay.

This didn't turn into another 3 week manhunt like the DC Sniper. They got them.

There will undoubtedly be more to come and we will have to sweep them up and toss in the garbage where they belong.
