FBI releases photos of Boston blast suspects

That's irrelevant, he wasn't captured on a government camera.

My KEYWORD was "IF"

how would you feel IF the bomber on caught on a corner camera. Mixed feelings, right?

The white hat guy looks like a punk. The arrogance and nonchalance with which he is walking disgusts me - at least have some reverence for the **** you're about to pull. It's like he's just doing it for ****s and giggles. I wonder though what he planned on doing after the attacks as he doesn't seem at all concerned about being recognized.

I can't tell what they are. The one guy almost looks like he could be Israeli for Christs sake. Not that I'm saying he is, just kinda looks like he could be.

Mediterranean could be Greek - American too. Hard to say.

As I mentioned on a different thread, they look to me like two of the foreign students Kerry was complaining about being afraid of guns in America.

Looks like ones got the Arabic nose kind of hawkish. Most of the richer arabs have a lighter skin tone. So I tend to think that way. These photos are not very detailed so its hard to say for sure.

I'd be happy that he was caught, sure, but I'd still be uncomfortable and not ok with the government keeping an eye on the public. I just don't trust our government enough for that.

The people who do these kinds of things like this especially if they not at war are generally very soulless and psychopathic. They don't really have feelings the way you or I would. I tend to think of them as rabid dogs fit only to be put down.

I was hoping for better photos. Black hat could knock on my door and I'd never know it was him and white hat looks blurrily like just about anybody.

I disagree. I think it's advantageous to release these pics to the public. Would you rather have a few hundred people knowing what you look like of thousands upon thousands? I think it's quite clear.

But i expect this from you as a Debbie downer.

It might be a spoiler; an attempt to make the real perps relax and slip up, because they think that no one is looking for them.

But, who knows...right?

+ 1 .

I'm still amazed that security footage still looks like this. It's probably more difficult/expensive than I'm imagining, but still, you would think by now businesses/cities would have something better.

I'm even MORE amazed at the quality of speakers at drive-throughs. What are they thinking??

I don't like the cameras everywhere either, but it's not unwarranted search in any stretch of the imagination.

I have the right to secure person, papers, property, and effects from unreasonable search and seizure. Monitoring is a form of search.

But you are out in PUBLIC. To my knowledge, you are not entitled to privacy law in public, right?

But filming a cop in public is a crime. :2wave:

How is camera surveillance a search of your person, for Heaven's sake? On a public street -- hell, in your own driveway -- you should have absolutely no expectation of privacy.

You got to scatter photons and record. You take measurement of my position and momentum. If you have cause to do so, fine; but you don't get to do it willy nilly.

My rights do not cease to exist in public.

Maybe at first. But the we all know what the road to hell is paved with.

But do you really think someone would be watching those cameras 24hrs a day to see if you are picking your nose? No. They would be used to review criminal activity such as this bombing.

It makes me wonder more about the potential motives. I would think that if white hat guy was truly fighting for a "cause", he might be a little less nonchalant.

A few grand for something good, when I checked a while ago, I thought?
That doesn't sound too bad for big businesses and governments. They need to get on that.

First, no it's not. Second, in public you have ZERO expectation of privacy, same as when you are on the business property of others.

LOL, I agree. They are one of the reasons I generally go into a place with a drive through - to avoid the stress. I would think that by now they might even have cameras so that we can see the lips moving on the person taking the order. But alas, businesses are cheap mofos.

It's not just the cameras, high quality being more expensive, it's the wiring and the storage. The more high quality the capture, the larger the file. Even with storage being "cheap", you'd soon reach your storage limit.

I hate that pre-recorded "Thank you for selecting X, Would you like to try Y today?" they start off blaring at you in the drive throughs now and then can't understand anything you say.

I thought it was stupid to not get these photos widespread in the public IMMEDIATELY.

It would be stupid to plaster these guy's mugs all over national TV, they could flee to a country that has no extradition treaty with The United States.

It's a double edged sword.

so a cop sitting on at the street corner watching people is infringing upon your rights, correct?

No, I'll give people their biological function. But since when has a camera been part of human physiology?

But, but, the pictures are so clear on NCIS and the there is instant facial recognition! :)
