“If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures.”
- Alexander Hamilton. Spiritual father of #NeverTrump
Since when did the US bring nuclear weapons into South Korea?
"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
So, it is the same strategy used by his father before him. Use violent rhetoric as leverage to yield some sort of concession from the West.
The north would have been cleaned up a long time ago if it was not for this dilemma. No one wants to sacrifice 10 million people so they've been tolerating the idiot midget dictators of the north.
It's just a matter of when hostilities will break out though. Probably a miscalculation from one of the two sides, which will escalate.

Role models are fun.
"We all of us know down here that politics is a tough game. And I don't think there's any point in being Irish if you don't know that the world is going to break your heart eventually."-Daniel Patrick Moynihan, December 5, 1963
I don't see how either of these terms are unreasonable.
What is so "incomprehensible" about that?"Second, you need to tell the whole world that you will not get involved in any rehearsal for a nuclear war that threatens our nation. Dialogues and war games can never go together," it added.
"I do not claim that every incident in the history of empire can be explained in directly economic terms. Economic interests are filtered through a political process, policies are implemented by a complex state apparatus, and the whole system generates its own momentum."
Anyway, I think that it's better to go up against the North with an offensive plan, than a defensive one. They've played their hand though, blustering about as they did, threatening everything under the sun. Now they want to talk, but right, they have pre-conditions that are non-negotiable in our country's interest. Like this is going to go anywhere productive.
No, we soon as well should enact battle plans against North Korea. Or what, kick that can down the road too? Some other generation and some other President's problem - which does not even begin to speak for our allies, South Korea and Japan.
