Roofers union calls for Obamacare’s repeal

    Roofers union calls for Obamacare

But regrettably, our concerns over certain provisions in the ACA have not been addressed, or in some instances, totally ignored. In the rush to achieve its passage, many of the Act’s provisions were not fully conceived, resulting in unintended consequences that are inconsistent with the promise that those who were satisfied with their employer sponsored coverage could keep it.

These provisions jeopardize our multi-employer health plans, have the potential to cause a loss of work for our members, create an unfair bidding advantage for those contractors who do not provide health coverage to their workers, and in the worst case, may cause our members and their families to lose the benefits they currently enjoy as participants in multi-employer health plans.
Only 22,000 members, but its based in DC, so this has to sting a bit. Couple this with Max Baucus, one of the bills authors, warning of a "huge train wreck coming down", and it makes you wonder if the President will call for a rewrite as well.

It would never pass the House unless it further weakened the program.

If these bits and pieces that are starting to come out as ACA is nearing full implementation are true, Obamacare may become another hot button issue as it was in 2010. Baucus is running for re-election in 2014 from the very red state of MT. He knows he could be in big trouble if the ACA turns out to be a boondoggle. This is just another reason he voted against the gun control measure today. He wants to keep his job and he is beginning to realize he may have stepped on it big time for his Aye vote on the ACA.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

As employees' hours are reduced and everyone begins to see the effects on there wallets, this could very well become the boondoggle in the eyes of many previous supporters thinking they would get something for nothing. Good evening pero. How is the move coming?
I don't often change my signature, but this was just too over the top to let anyone forget with what this country is up against...

IDK. Where I live roofers are like painters-----sporadically working addicts/drunks--for the most part.

Slow but sure AP. I double checked the polls on the ACA, back when it was passed, 58% of Americans were against it and 39% for it. I just look at Quinnepac Poll, two days ago 46% want it repealed, that is quite a drop from the original 58%. But I wonder how much that drop was people just accepting the inevitability of the ACA. Those who want to keep ACA is at 41%. That is still roughly the base support it had when ACA was first passed. A few boondoggles like this and a few others that are now coming to light, Obamacare has a chance of becoming a hot issue again in November of 2014 much like it was in 2010. We all know what happened in 2010. Time will tell.

The President is NOT going to call for a rewrite!
