French President's Camel Eaten in Mali

Do NOT want to think about that.....

I stayed at a remote farm in Andalucia a while back..to my surprise there were cats in the rabbit hutches..when I asked him why..he put his fingers to his mouth and said ''yam yam''..I got it..pretty universal..

The highlight of the holiday was a paella..sitting in the middle of a field with my kids..A sweet old lady came with a chicken under one arm..and a rabbit under the other...

After letting the kids pet them for a while..she pulled a knife out of her apron pocket and cut the chicken's head off with one slash..letting the body go to flap around in front of them..then she held the rabbit..whacked it at the back of it's neck..cut it's belly open and pulled it's guts out..

They were the ingredients for the paella!!!

In other news, France, today, surrendered to Mali.

"French surrender monkeys" is one of the longest running, most inaccurate stereotypes I've encountered. It's really interesting.

I know, but it's fun. LOL.

Yes, that is inaccurate.

It's actually 'Cheese-eating surrender monkeys". Cheese-eating surrender monkeys - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Funny, I've never bothered looking up where the phrase came from, I simply thought it was a development of the old legend of a Napoleonic warship whose monkey mascot was tried and hung by the locals when they thought they'd captured a real live Frenchman when the warship sank off Hartlepool.

I've had caribou, moose, possum (ick, won't do that again), rattlesnake, ostrich, squirrel, bear, kangaroo, and a whole bunch of others, some I'd really rather forget. Haven't had, nor likely to try dog or cat.

Ever had gator? It tastes almost exactly like chicken.
