PETA Plans to Fly Drones That Would 'Stalk Hunters'

and i'll go back to my original post. So, hunters dont like to be hunted. LMFAO

Nothing prevents them from being attacked in the wild. But sending drones after people and turning it over to the police? That is illegal search and seizure without a warrant.

I'd shoot them down anyway. What are they going to do about it?

They'd be more successful harassing anglers. They hate catch and release fly anglers like me, and bass anglers as well, as we "torture" the poor fish for fun. Anglers usually aren't armed, or if they are, it's likely to be with a handgun. It would be hard to shoot down a drone with a handgun, after all.

But, I hope they don't. It would be a major pain to have to start toting a shotgun on the trout stream.

Wait... you don't carry a shotgun when you fly fish?

There isn't a single gun owner on here that isn't thinking about how much fun it would be to try to shoot one down. And the RC guys are thinking about interception.

This is the fun that the Liberals bring to our lives.

I would personally proffer to get some kind of after-market jammer, like the portable Warlock, and place myself such that I could jam a passing drone and cause it to crash.

Even if the drone were watching me, it would not see me do anything incriminating because a small jammer fits in the pocket and activates with the flip of a switch.

That said I would still have to be smart because using that kind of jammer violates many FCC regulations and the Fed would want to know wtf is going on. That's when the hunter becomes the hunted as the Fed sets up a trap to see who's hunting PETA drones.

And that opens up a new game, hunting the hunter hunter! I like where this is going.

See, you know that they know that you know, the question is do they know that you Know they know you know?

I bet this evolves into it's own sport regardless of what PETA does. After all, NASCAR came from the alcohol prohibition.

And you know the true plot: to get hunters hunting drones instead of animals. BWAAHAHAHAHAHHHAAA

Now where can I get a drone hunting license

It would be more fun to get a a couple regular RC aircraft, fly up and play bumper-drones.

Since many hunters are NRA types who think their right to own dangerous weapons is sacrosanct, in fact there is some poetic justice in PETA using a military device to make their lives miserable.

But like I say, there's plenty of decent ethical people who hunt, so I think this stunt is misplaced. I wouldn't mind a drone perminenly circling La Pierre's home, however.

Thanks for demonstrating once again that you hate NRA people-but not criminals

You're not kidding. Normally when I'm out plinking I'm carrying a 5 pound scoped stainless Ruger 10 22 with a 25 rounds magazine. I've got rounds for it that punch thru 1 1/2 steel drums at 25 yards. I'm thinking that could be a lot of fun.

...and the drones would have endorsements like NASCAR.....

That was not for food. That was for "sport"

?

"Alaskans depend on wildlife for food and cultural practices which can't be sustained when predators are allowed to decimate moose and caribou populations," she said in a statement, "Our predator-control programs are scientific and successful at protecting vulnerable wildlife.

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, predators kill more than 80 percent of the moose and caribou that die there in a given year. To keep predator populations in check, the state currently has five wolf-control programs covering about 9.4 percent of the state's land area. "Successful programs allow humans to take more moose," its Web site claims, "and healthy populations of wolves continue to thrive in Alaska."

But there is a correlation :2wave:

According to whom ?

People that run and scream like little girls at the sight of a firearm ?

Its just just a inanimate object if that makes you feel better .

A tool really.

Do you think a business will open up that will mount the head of PETA drones on a plaque, so it can be displayed in ones trophy room?

Dang, that would be one for the hunters bucket list for sure...

Well, sonny, I got my first PETA drone way back in 2017...

We need to get PETA government funding.

yeah harassing people who aren't far lefties is ok with the "tolerant left". I wonder if you feel the same way if bible thumpers taped women going into abortion clinics or men going into gay bars?

That certainly has been done and worse. Doctors have been killed for upholding a woman's rights.
It is no more harassing than the gun thumping and veiled threats you guys do. Drones are here to stay for sure though, they just might replace those "black helicopters" you all fear so much. Better keep an extra mag on the night table.

Some tool....I'll stick with my Craftsman's

(CNN) -- A 6-year-old New Jersey boy has died after being shot in the head by a 4-year-old playmate as their parents stood in the yard nearby, a local police chief said.

Brandon Holt was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to Toms River police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

It was the second incident in the United States in recent days involving young children accidentally shooting others.

Brandon was playing in and around the 4-year-old's Toms River home on Monday evening when the younger child left the yard and went inside, police explained.

"The 4-year-old ... retrieved a rifle within the house, a .22-caliber rifle, came outside," Mastronardy told reporters earlier Tuesday. "... A shot went out and the 6-year-old was struck in the head."

If a drone fails and falls on your property, can you put it in your garage (picking up trash) and refuse to allow the owners to retrieve it (no trespassing)?
Finders keepers. They put on your property you may do what you wish. If they fly it over your house they are technically violating FAA regulations.

What an upside down world we live in today....The debate over gun control rages on....People are being drawn into supporting taking peoples private property to distribute to the collective...Rights, once proclaimed by our constitution granted us by God, are now determined, and given/taken by man....

And PETA wants to stalk, and harass legal hunters with drones....These people are just plain nuts. I'd shoot it down.

I think DP needs to get themselves a drone to monitor DP posters.

Granted operating a drone would likely drastically increase operating costs, raising the monthly donation target from $250 to something like $1.2M, but think of the benefit: anytime the drone catches the DP poster starting a thread based on an article posted to a political porn site such as WND or DailyKos, or catches a DP poster taking argument with his/her own facts... the drone could just fire a laser that, if it did not take out the posters computer, could at least hit the delete key, saving us all from thoughtless, unsupported, unintellectual ramblings that appear far too often on this site, wasting the time of each of us...

... like this post, for example.

To those who think PETA shouldn't be watching out for people breaking the law and turning that info over to the police I have two questions:

Do you think neighborhood watches are wrong?
Do you think private citizens who monitor the border for illegal crossings (such as the Minutemen) and then notify border patrol are wrong?

Depends on what they are hunting and when. Unfortunately we have killed off most of the predators so hunting can help control populations, such as in the case of hunting deer.

People who obtain their meat from the grocery store contribute more to suffering and environmental damage than your typical deer or quail hunter.
