PETA Plans to Fly Drones That Would 'Stalk Hunters'

I'm just hoping they won't put a "bag limit" on drones per day.

What an upside down world we live in today....The debate over gun control rages on....People are being drawn into supporting taking peoples private property to distribute to the collective...Rights, once proclaimed by our constitution granted us by God, are now determined, and given/taken by man....

And PETA wants to stalk, and harass legal hunters with drones....These people are just plain nuts. I'd shoot it down.

Big Brother. Seems like every year the push for more power and control gets more stranglng.

Not the case with UAVs.

UAV's not operated by hobbyists cannot fly at all with out prior approval by the FAA. UAV's are considered remote control aircraft. And come under those guidelines. To fly a UAV as part of a commercial or other than hobby venture brings them under very strict controls.

I hunt private land. I will shoot it down and let them call the law. Trespassing lol.

Unless drones are banned by the FAA, or whoever manages that particular park: You're gonna have drones there anyway. They could be operated by drone enthusiasts, photographers, park management, map services companies, and so forth. Might want to get used to it.

If PETA interferes with a legal hunt, I'd disapprove of it. Until it actually happens, my sympathies for poachers are basically zero.

And really, the more I think about it, the less this seems like an actual viable policy and more like a way to get attention. A drone with a 20- or 40-minute flight time won't be all that effective. Your outrage has brought them more attention, which is probably what they really want in the first place. So... good job!

It is harassment. Lawful hunters are going to be targeted. I doubt peta knows regulations. I do. I actively follow the law AND call FWC on violations. Im hunting right now.

Your hunting lodge is a public place? Your hundred acre farm is a public place?

At least, for now, that is not true.

FYI, the PETA drone that got shot down was intent on harrassing a pigeon shoot on a private site. It was trespassing. The shoot was legal, drone was not.,

Shooting down the drone was awesome. Plus the crybaby tried to complain about safety. Someone has never experienced pellet rain lmao!

Just think of yourselves as celebrities and drones are your paparazzi. It's tough to prove just observing someone in a public place is "harassment".

No. But I can prove they are harassing the wildlife. That is a crime. Talk to FWC. I've seen airboats shut down during duck season for this exact reason. Wouldn't be hard to demonstrate that they were affecting wildlife...not just legal hunters.

These liberals, with their manifesto in force, fail to see the real issue. The conservatives in this nation are already heavily armed and are not giving up that edge. It is one that has been guaranteed by the US Constitution. Gun rights are not meant to support sportsmen, as the liberals would suggest. Gun rights, is a check against the tendency for governments to become overbearing. PETA can deploy all of the model airplanes with digital cameras that they want to. The NRA, and hunters can do the same. Who really has the power? ... The men who are armed, based upon their second amendment rights, or the sheep who constantly try to constrain our rights, along with their own, out of a socialist view of the "greater community benefit?" These things are laughable.
