Yes, it says that. But the bill of rights has been incorporated against state governments also.

Using this logic every time the USSC overturned a state law as unconstitutional it was exceeding its authority.

Beats the Hell out of meekly surrendering to the Godless Obama loons controlling every aspect of your life with their depraved view of the world. Like all dictators, Obama wants government to be your religion, and all other religious competitors to be destroyed or under his control. The homosexuals hate Christianity and create endless threads on here ridiculing the basic tenets of Christianity. Why is that OK, but not this?

It's time for all states rights advocates to fight back against the no judgments, tolerate everything, depravity of the Loons. Even if awkwardly, North Carolina is making a start.

I'm just glad to see someone fighting back against all that Americans hate and the Godless shrieking loons worship. Our national elected representatives are silent as church mice and just want to surrender to the evil that has befallen the once most beautiful country in the world.

Are you really asking us why it's ok for an individual to express their opinion that a particular religion is bad but not ok for the government to do the same?

Here's a good way to answer the question: Picture a scenario in which North Carolina was declaring Islam to be its official state religion.

The first amendment applies to state governments and declaring an official state religion is a clear violation of the establishment clause.

The Libbos would be screaming: "it's ok, because there's nothing in SC's Constitution making it illegal and there damn sure isn't anything in The United States Constitution saying they can't do it".
