NRA unveils plan for armed guards in schools it says 'will save lives'

no since as I said its more used as a general slang term for Americans now days (200 years later lol). Just as when you call us Limeys I'm sure Americans aren't implying we still eat limes to avoid scurvy lol.
"Limeys" wtf I've never heard that one.

As for gun ownership no I don't think its a bad thing however I do think putting armed guards in schools is a little crazy.
Well sure, why use taxpayer money to pay for armed guards when the regular adults in that school (parents, faculty, janitors, etc) are willing to bear arms for free? It doesn't make any sense.

Arm teachers? Sounds like a really great way for them to get shot when the police show up and mistake them for the shooter.

I don't see how.
Without an accurate shooter description, the police, upon entering the school and clearing rooms, could mistake a gun-wielding teacher for the gunman. Though, perhaps the benefits outweigh the risks?

yeh Limeys is a pretty popular term for us Brits.

Personally the idea of guns in a school is pretty alien to me! However if you were to require a teacher to carry would they get marksmanship lessons? Crisis control? Would they get "danger pay"?

Leave it to a liberal or a socialist to be unable to think something through.

If the police showed up and told a teacher to drop their weapon...what do YOU think that teacher will do? Act like a shooter and start firing at them?

If they even ask to drop the weapon, it only takes watching a few episodes of reality television police shows to see that they don't always ask.

I note a difference between the words "require" and "allow". I would not require anyone to carry if they didn't want to. I would allow adults to carry if they want to. No you don't get any extra pay. You pay for your own gun, your own permit, your own training, just like you pay for your own clothes, your own food, your own car. Telling an adult they can carry their gun at school is like telling an adult they can pray while at school. You have a right to wear a religious item if you want, that doesn't mean you will get extra pay for wearing it.

And now we know where you get your information.

what about the parents who object to guns being in school around their children?

It was quite obviously a sarcastic reference, I'm quite surprised that anyone could've interpreted that as being a legitimate citing of information.

Ahhh....I see what your problem is...you watch TV.

Dude...they don't call that thing the "boob tube" for nothing, you know.

I don't watch television, it was quite clearly a sarcastic reference in my opinion. I suppose now is the time to drop this superfluous and trivial discussion? On a happier note, I like your sig. :D

by the time the cops enter, it would typically be over already.

But I don't like Glock.

Glocks are tools. they almost always work. They work for most people. I have shot "500" scores in the GSSF indoor leagues with the 34, the 17 and the little 26. Given that, I prefer the smith and wesson MP I am pro choice. Choose the gun that fits you best. Diversity is a good thing since hands come in diverse sizes

yeah its far better for everyone but the shooter to be dead when the cops arrive. then the same cops who shot some guy in NYC going for his wallet 41 times won't kill any innocents

As do fore-arms, I can't target shoot very long with .44 magnum :D

A client gave me a SW 29 when I did a good job for him and he believed I charged him far less than what I should have. Its a great gun but I rarely shoot it since I don't have a 44 reloading rig set up. I have a bunch of 38 or 357s and I load them and a 625 (45 ACP) I really like the 45 ACP in a revolver because with full moon clips I can reload those things even faster than a 38 with a Safariland spring loaded Comp 3 speed loader

I personally love the 45 ACP. To me at least, it seems to have a slower recoil than most pistol rounds? All the .40s that I've shot had an awful snap recoil, whereas the .45 tended to be more or less just a shove.

I put them in the same category as parents who don't want their children to be around gays or minorities.

well said. that is true. the 45 ACP is easier on most people if you are shooting the 40 in USPSA "Major" I bought my son an STI "Trojan" 1911 in 40 for ONE reason. 40 brass is extremely plentiful while 45 ACP brass is hard to find. so I load 40s for him FOR PRACTICE 175 SWC lead behind 4.3 grains of 231-

enough to make the gun work reliably but not IPSC major. 45 its 4.1 grains of CLAYS with a 200 Grain SWC-about Major and slightly more kick

for my defense pistol in 40 I use the DHS 135 grain Winchester "Lawman"" loads-the 135 is far less nasty than the 180 which is far more common or the 165s.

Sarcasm requires that the reader first know your true intent, which we don't because we don't know each-other ..and then that the reader catch subtle clues such as body language or tone of voice....which again is not transmitted through this text format.

In the future, you should just use the sarcasm font.

lol except that gay people and minorities are fellow human beings where as a Gun is a weapon....Im sorry I want to keep this discussion civil but this comment is absurd.
