So it begins. Colt has begun the process of leaving Connecticut. As the largest gun manufacturer in the state, won't be long till the smaller companies like Stag and Mossberg follow suit. These companies generate roughly $1.7 billion for the state each year. Nothing to scoff at. I personally won't purchase a singe thing from them until they have completely left the state. Good thing, I almost bought a Mossberg shotgun last year, glad I waited.

What does registration (of magazines, even) actually do? As far as I can tell, having your name on a list associated with a particular thing can lead to absolutely no good.

Two questions: why would someone want to know where these magazines were, and what would they do with that knowledge?

all law abiding civilians should have access to the same weaponry. If bloomturd and the mafioso cuomo don't trust civilians to have more than 7 shot (why seven shot-has anyone else realized how silly this is) weapons than the people our tax dollars pay to guard the pompous assholes called politicians should have the same restrictions

Problem is for you though, that what you see successful in Scandinavian countries are not that much different than here. Sweeden for example, has a constitution remarkably like our own. True socialist countries, run closer to out right communism, and are authoritarian by nature.
Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

As it turns out, Scandinavians enjoy low poverty and unemployment rates. They also enjoy low poverty and unemployment rates everywhere else they live in the world. Turns out, Scandinavians like to work. Isn't that strange? Even stranger, Switzerland enjoys similarly low unemployment, and nobody can accuse that country of being socialist in the least.

Scandinavian countries also enjoy extremely low immigrant rates. Migrants tend to be "poor" when they immigrate (seeking new opportunity), thus driving up poverty rates of industrialized countries, such as the US, Germany, and Great Britain.

Norway and Sweden also ranked extremely high in suicide rates up until five years ago or so. Is that because of Socialism... or perhaps some other cause. Really, taking one example of a pseudo-socialist country (for having high taxes and social programs while also having low levels of government interference and nationalization) is disingenuous in the extreme. Might as well call Socialism since a bunch of Russians used to stand in line for toilet paper. We all know there is more to both sides of the story.
