Would these new laws have stopped New Town? No.

Glad to see at least one state joining the civilized world. Hopefully more states in the northeast and west coast will follow.

WASHINGTON Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette drew national criticism Wednesday for remarks made at a public forum in which she said banning high-capacity in ammunition magazines would be effective in reducing gun violence because "the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available."
For years in Congress, DeGette has been the prime sponsor on a federal ban on high-capacity magazines.
But despite the congresswoman's claim, ammunition magazines can be reloaded with more bullets and can be reused hundreds of times.
"These are ammunition, they're bullets, so the people who have those now, they're going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high-capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available," she said at Tuesday's forum, hosted by The Denver Post's editorial board.

I suspect that she like all the other anti-2nd amendment trash are merely resorting to lies and misinformation as an excuse to **** on the 2nd amendment. I do not believe she or any other anti-2nd amendment politician is really that stupid. For example how many times have you heard anti-2nd amendment trash refer to certain civilian firearms as assault weapons or military assault style weapons or some other term to imply that those firearms are really military weapons? How many times have you heard them refer to 11-30 round standard capacity magazines as high capacity magazines? Heck many of them try to make you believe that assault weapon(semi-automatic firearm with scary looking features) and assault rifle(automatic or burst rifle that fires a intermediate cartridge ) are synonymous terms like a media matters article posted in the gun forum did.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Yeah, I actually think that the congresswoman, spoke the truth about her agenda without even knowing it....Kind of like when Maxine Watters had that whole "this congresswoman is all about...", this dolt of a woman is talking of magazines as if it is ammo, thus claiming that ammo won't be available...That seems to be what they are doing now....

Socialism has been very successful in Scandinavian countries. And gun deaths are much lower there too. It's conservative policies that have failed miserably.
