Barack Obama: 'Work still to be done in Northern Ireland'[W:51]

President wore a Green tie for the occasion. Men and Women were killed for the wearing of the green not that long ago.

Credit where it's deserved for all sides,

BBC News - Barack Obama: 'Work still to be done in Northern Ireland'

As an American how do you feel about the visit? Does it change the party you support domestically??

He's right, but what can be done?

I'm inclined to think he should do more about the national debt and be less concerned about Ireland. I know I am.

Yes of course the ongoing economic crisis from 2007 onwards is more of a concern. Or as one Irishman explained:

But that would be biased so here's the say of the other side:

But as every Government has a foreign policy, what's your opinion on this action by Obama?

I love my Irish heritage but ya know something? I don't care. Lets focus on the problems and needs of OUR country FIRST. Stop sticking our noses in other peoples problems and buisness....at least until we get our **** fixed.

Edit note: This has been my biggest gripe about every single president that we have had since I can remember getting interested in politics.

I don't know who the hell that guy is but we need to amend the constitution for foreign born people to become president and bring this guy on board.

I can just see him ending a press conference the way he ended this interview..."ahh piss-off sir... I'm going for a pint."

It's unfortunate that Obama, like his predecessors, can't focus on US issues and avoid intervening in other countries's affairs.

Let the Northern Irish, British, and Irish sort their affairs just as US citizens should sort their own affairs without an outside interference from another government.

The U.S. doesn't have that luxury, as we are interconnected. Furthermore, the President is expected to cover an array of issues, at least superficially. Bemoaning the amount of policy diversity expected of a President is juvenile at best.

As a descendant to a Colonel of calvary in the Williamite Army who liberated Ulster, I say it is one more place where Obama is sticking his nose where it don't belong.
