The FDA is currently being petitioned by the dairy industry to have the ability to add aspartame to milk products without labeling it, even if the product is organic. Neotame, another sweetener, already has this privilege under the FDA. When aspartame's approval was already highly controversial, it's shocking to see industry getting a pass time and time again to add known toxic products to our diet, and we don't have the right to know.

There are things I miss about being in my home State but I'm so glad I got the hell out of the U.S. The corporate control of government gets worse and worse every year.

Sorry, but we are effectively powerless.

This is bull****. Eating vegetables is supposed to be healthy, its not a health concern.
The fact is that organic foods kill, as we discovered in the USA, Canada and Europe, as well as making many people sick. I wouldn't touch that (literal) crap.

Agreed, however their past warrants scrutiny and that should be biased towards the interests of the people, NOT Monsanto itself. You use heirloom seeds, the government should regulate Monsanto so you will always be able to do that.

How many people have died as a result of Monsanto seeds?

It seems science had made great steps in making food safer, water cleaner, crops greater, etc. and yet some people want to return to the times of mass starvation and the bubonic plague.

It seems odd that there are people so eager to accept the call of scientists that global warming is man made but reject science when it comes to our food. We are living longer and healthier lives which our ancestors would never dream of, and now it seems many want to return to those days of the 40 year life span.

Because in at least a few cases the new foods are not so beneficial. Why do you think we have all these gluten allergies showing up? Why are the kids having such a problem drinking milk? And I'm sure you've heard of the problems with monoculture.

In the case of our food chain, so many times those scientists aren't working in the public good but for the increased profit of the large grower and seed producers.

I don't mind profit at all and it certainly doesn't imply wrongdoing. Businesses that lose money are not necessarily more honest.

If you want to eat organic foods go for it, but it's not wise to feed it to children.

Despite all the processed foods and added, synthetic vitamins it's always been common sense that you can't go wrong fruits and vegetables. They come straight out of the ground or from trees; no processing, no antibiotics, and now that may not be the same.

Their profits are the least of my concern
