One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. Dood was never 'insane'. He planned the event, coordinated it, could express clear intent, devised an escape strategy, plotted a booby trap at his apartment designed to kill as many as he could. He was reasoned and rational and made clear choices. Evil intent does not make one insane.
Eiher way, the notion that these clowns aren't afraid of dieing isn't entirely accurate.
