Sounds like the kid was about to get kicked out and he used this jesus thing as an excuse. Stepping on the name jesus should never be a reason for expellation. Do the "litany of charges" have anything to do with the Jesus incident at all or is this a word-smithed story?

Stomp on "Jesus" or get booted is a fantastic example.

Re: FAU Student Claims He Was Suspended For Refusing To Step On Jesus

I just read today the teacher was placed on administrative leave. Before the right starts cheering it seems they were place on it because of the massive amounts of threats to the teacher's safety and that it was a danger to students to have the teacher present in class and on campus. Them some good christians who got the lesson of jesus. if you don't like someone threaten to kill him. It is just like turning the other cheek and forgiving, only without the forgiving and turning the other cheek part.

Oh well, the student got what he wanted which was to threaten the life of someone because they asked him to step on a piece of paper with jesus' name on it. I would like to point out that even when jesus was clearly in danger and suffering through some of the worst abuse imaginable, according to the story, he never threatened the safety of his torturers or fought back as an example to his disciples. But I guess if they chose to have him step on a paper with his name on it then jesus would have gone all wrath of god on their roman asses. I guess it is a good thing they just beat the crap out of him and nailed him to a cross to die a slow horrible death instead of the paper thing.

If it matters I just think it's funny you're trying to defend this alleged teacher (who isn't worthy of "professor.")

You have no basis of defense for such a turd.... All you have is your opinion.
no. I looked at the issue. I understood the point of the exercise.

the reaction of people like you has only proven the point of the exercise.

whether the word is "Jesus" or "mohammed" makes no real difference. the word "Jesus" was useful to prove that words are powerful in the context of a group of students at a US University ... something else, eg "mohammed" may have been more useful elsewhere.

if the lesson still escapes you, that only reflects how powerful - and dangerous - words can be.

Would you ever step on the "Don't Tread On Me" flag libertarian?

Get tortured and nailed to a cross, forgive your enemies. Step ona piece of paper with jesus written on it and threaten to kill the guy as a community. That is a fantastic example.

the student is actually quite shocked at the reaction ..... he was making his point and didn't think about the consequences ...

but yes.... I am still waiting for the 'moderate" Christians to distance themselves from their extremist brethren .....

    At Easter especially .....

Yeah the point of the exercise was to prove who has principals and who doesn't .... I do. I'm a Christian and a libertarian and stomping on my beliefs is disrespectful to my ideas and beliefs.

Jumping on "JESUS" is like jumping an idiot into the gang of secular progressivism...
