Given what many in here, to include some 'conservatives', have posted about them playing and what they would do if they won- I'd say if it isn't THE American dream, it is what millions of Americans dream about!

The PLAN maybe to work smart/hard to provide a 'better' life for your offspring than you had, but I'd say the DREAM is to retire early and spend the rest of your life doing what you want to do when you want to.

Inventing the next 'as seen on TV', the next video game, stock tip, fast horse, or lottery all seem to be acceptable ways to get there quickly... though the odds maybe the same for all of them...

Every other aspect of what the American dream was has been systematically destroyed. The government controls the housing market, the banks skimmed most of the equity off the entire country. College costs are up as is unemployment, incomes are down, taxes are up. I'd say the only people achieving the American dream are politicians and lottery winners. The rest of us are struggling just to get by, and that's the new norm.

Her country uses Euros, so her news would report it in Euros. Since he was in NJ and it was an American lottery, he actually gets US Dollars, if he wants Euro's, then he has to do the exchange.

I guarantee that winning the lottery isn't a dream that's exclusively American. Nor is it THE American Dream. Now if he invented something new, struggled and worked his fingers to the bone and then because of that became a multimillionaire - that would be the American Dream.

surely the American dream is what you make it?
