A French man has been arrested on board a plane in the US after being found sitting in the cockpit wearing a uniform and claiming to be a pilot.
Police say the man, who identified himself as Philippe Jernnard, was a ticketed passenger on the US Airways flight to West Palms Beach, Florida.
The 61-year-old was found sitting in the jump-seat behind the captain's chair.
He claimed to be a 747 pilot for Air France.
Police say they have detained him on charges of trespassing, impersonating a public servant and lying to officers.
"When [Jernnard] could not produce proper credentials he was removed from the flight and the police were notified," Philadelphia police said in a statement.
"[He] was in possession of a counterfeit Air France Crew member identification card."
He is being held in custody with bail set at more than $1,000,000.

I'm not sure if this scares me or enrages me. How did he manage to get past security and into the cockpit of a US aircraft?
