I know you can't actually defend your position here, but it still would have been nice to see you try.

That's a fair point, but online EVERYTHING you do is tracked, traced and databased somewhere.

Defend what position? You're crying cause some corporation handling NS information is being monitored by its employer (i.e. the government). You morphed that into your usual Libertarian rants about the government abusing privacy rights. If they don't like it, they shouldn't do business with the government.

You shouldn't use the internet if you're that paranoid. Vauge, the owner of this site has information about you. Through your IP he could track you down to where you live. However, he doesn't. The company who hosts this forum & other sites you visit instead sells your information to an advertising giant (Google) and they get to decide what ads will be seen by you. I don't have a problem with it at all. It's a hassle of using the web.

Whatever. This is par for the course now. Our country has bought a one way ticket to fascism and people are too stupid or lazy to do anything about it. Carry on.

What is the one job of the government? Have any ideas?

This assumes the government only has 1 job. As I don't really subscribe to such simplistic views of the world, I can't answer. You tell me Libertarian.

Would you agree that one of its jobs is to protect our rights?

Yes - did you read the article though? Wait, never mind reading it. Did you understand it?

Companies (A) will sell information ("incentives") to the government (B), it will then pass it on to security providers (C). These will search for infrastructure weaknesses that allow cyber attacks to be performed.

    Free market at work.

Now, if you read that and think - OMG the government reading through our e-mails! You either have a very real superiority complex. The kind where you think anyone is interested in whatever sexting it is you do during your lunch hour - or you're simply paranoid.
