Guantanamo hunger strike growing

Only three people were waterboarded, and it was not "constant."
All of them are still kicking.
Well yes, but these three religious fanatics lost the humanity they once had when they were fully functioning, free roaming terrorists. Now they're incensed with the US for not taking the moral high road and letting them get on with their terrorizing. They are now broken men.

It's just awful.

GREAT IDEA. If they starve to death then we don't have to waste the time trying them before executing them. BEAUTIFUL. Where do I send the note to tell them how much I support their right to starve themselves to death. Only problem is those pesky doctors trying to keep them alive.

That will all change under Obamacare.

In fact neither of knows what goes on in any prisons anywhere. We have to assume that laws are being followed and responsibilities carried out.

Why this interest in Gitmo?

Certainly there are other prisons around the world that have more serious problems than Gitmo. Why focus your attention on the well being of terrorists?

Because history has shown that people treat dehumanized people worse than cattle. And not everyone in these secret prisons is a terrorist. As admitted by our Americans.

Really? How is terrorism America's fault? Do you know that terrorism, islamism,is going on throughout the world regardless of whether Americans are there or not?

In fact you just did.

Nonsense. This is the usual Blame America First propaganda. It happened with Communism as well.
I never said blame America first.... You are hearing what you want to hear.

Because history has shown that people treat dehumanized people worse than cattle.

Nobody has dehumanized anyone. You should provide links before you make these ridiculous accusations.

And not everyone in these secret prisons is a terrorist. As admitted by our Americans.

"Our Americans"? Now you really must provide links.

I never said blame America first.... You are hearing what you want to hear.

Yes, i said you are part of the Blame America First school of propaganda, which reached its zenith during the Cold War but is enjoying a resurrection in the battle against islamist terrorism. That's quite clear.

Actually I said both are at fault and you just said "AMERICA BLAMER" There is a huge difference whether you choose to recognize it or not.

If we wish to be a moral authority, we must adhere to principles.

Even when they're terrorists.

who said we wish it? I have always been an eye for eye person

I respect and support their decision to strike. Fight the power, brothers. Dont give in.

You said they are both to blame, terrorists and the American people, without ever explaining how Americans are guilty of anything. You just want to hit and run.

You also complain about about the treatment of terrorist prisoners in Gitmo when there are far worse prisons around, if it is prisons which are your concern.

But that is unlikely. You are clearly only interested in the comfort and well being of those who would murder innocent victims, Americans and non- Americans alike.

*smh* You need some thicker hate paint. If no innocent people have ever been in secret prisons then why are some let out? What about innocent people whos situation happens to look a bit more grey? I care because no one else seems to. Everyone is so quick to "just let um die" because they are brown and have been labeled a terrorist.

I think its more likely a terrorist that knows he hurt people would accept his fate and get a free ride in jail. Where as an innocent person is more likely to be so crushed by the experience they are willing to starve themselves until freed of their bonds or their life.

No idea what that means.

No one else seems to care?? You can see the problem prisons in the US but you don't care about them. Only Gitmo. What's your motive here? You feel it's all about skin color? Who gave you that idea?

Yeah, the terrorists already know how you think. It's in their Guide Books.

And of course more dehumanizing. They arent humans! Everything under their turban is nothing but evil conniving little plots. /sarcasm

Good, indefinite detention without trial is unconstitutional.

Medically inducing consumption is far more expensive.

I wouldn't it is their choice and I am all for choice.

Really? And what 'moral authority' is that, and on what is it based?

Well, there is that whole "innocent until proven guilty", due process, trial-by-jury thing that is the moral foundation of our legal system.

Of course, when deemed without proof or trial to be a terrorist, we can throw all those things out the window.

Along with our moral legitimacy (in the eyes of friend and foe alike).

Thanks for the heads up about sarcasm. I find sarcasm so clever, don't you?

And applicable to Americans, not enemy forces.

Quite right. Once we declared war on Germany we didn't offer them a trial before we shot them.
Along with our moral legitimacy (in the eyes of friend and foe alike).

Which friends and which foes are you worried about?

Wouldn't want DHS taking my posts out of context and locking me up in gitmo forever. :D

You made the claim that "Here was me thinking that the US was built on law, order and justice not mob rule thank god no one here has any political influence".

I've never seen you use these words in regard to the United States. I see statements like this often, from Europeans, and they are intended to not only criticize American policy but to add hypocrisy as well. You've not given an example of "mob rule" anywhere, and you can't.

any links to me criticising American Law? You know not all European hate America as you may presume, I myself lived their for several years, I am married to an American and my son is a dual citizen.

p.s The "mob" was in reference to you lot in here saying things like 'let them starve" or " make them eat Bacon".

Then you have my apologies as I assumed you were a typical European. Of course I am a part of "you lot", and with no apologies there.

More and more detainees in Guantanamo are on a hunger strike because they thought it was going to close but as we all know they have not. Im not surprised that no media outlet in the US is really reporting on this.

I'm not surprised, either. After all, the President is a Democrat. Were it otherwise the news coverage would be 24/7 for days and days and the weeping and wailing of the left for these poor terrorist detainees would be heard far and wide.
