You may have a point. You fail to address the fact that ALL those JapaneseAmericans' neighbors were just waiting to loot/steal their property once they were safely "tucked away".....................

You mean the allegedly benevolent US government?

You know those nice democrats who claim they do what they do for your own good and "safety?"

First, what evidence do you have to even suggest that even happened. Secondly - the only time such nonsense even occurred was during the LA Riots where black's were destroying not only Japanese stores but any Asian store and stealing their ****...

That was the only time I have heard of or seen people steal from Japanese or Asians in the mass...

So they think that if Guantanamo closes, we'll just magically send them home, and not the more likely scenario that they'll secretly be transported to a facility that's even worse than that little **** hole in Cuba? I'm surprised the CIA hasn't torn their sense of hope away yet. They are in the business of breaking mens bodies and souls, afterall.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

Good thing "Ron Jeremy's stunt double" Khalid Sheikh Mohammed afforded those killed on 9/11/ 2001 the courtesy of a "fair trial". I hope he and his butt buddies at Club Gitmo suffers a slow painful death. Any chance bacon grease gets in the I.V?

The US government seized them, stole their assets and told them to "piss off" once they were finally released (some even as late as 1950)...

Sorry, back then people generally didn't steal... Stealing now is justifiable with massive excuses but back then - it was viewed as savagery. Your progressive change certainly did a lot.

But if you allow a small group of individuals with no accountability to decide which specific people to detain and torture indefinitely then you open the door to the wrong people being targeted, either through malice or simply through ****ing up. Given the multiple examples of the former that we have seem in the past few years I would have thought that the fact that the C.I.A has, by its own admission, detained and tortured innocent people I would have hoped that what has already happened would have been enough for those in the U.S to rethink its policy. Given that this is not the case perhaps we should consider the potential for the targeting of political figures that these people disapprove of (Or even those they simply have a grudge against) . This isn't a stretch considering the close relationship they enjoyed with the Syrian and Egyptian intelligence agencies and set ups like Operation Condor which still have Henry Kissinger wanted in several countries for collaboration in political repression. This needent be an altruistic concern now that American citizens are aparently no longer of limits.
