Don't get me wrong, I applaud his choice to take a principled stand. I just think that it'll hurt him with people otherwise sympathetic to him.
Meanwhile, corporations can still hire them below minimum wage, keeping jobs from Americans and letting the "almost illegals" know they could be deported for NOT working at slave wages. Yeah, that explanation helps put it in the Rand perspective. Anti-American workers.

principled stand? rand paul? no way
he merely sees that the hispanic vote is a barrier to the GOP winning national office going forward
but you could always share with us the principle rand paul is is standing on
i would truly delight in reading it
More BS, not backed up by any links as usual.
Federal officials are investigating how at least 10 undocumented immigrants performed hurricane reconstruction work at a naval base near New Orleans. (Related story: Cities tackle day labor dilemma)
Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Jamie Zuieback said Sunday that the agency was asked to come to Belle Chasse Naval Air Station on Thursday by base officials. Zuieback said 10 workers were found who were not authorized to work in the United States. They were denied base access, and the agency is investigating "the circumstance surrounding their employment," she said.

POSTVILLE, Iowa — When federal immigration agents raided the kosher meatpacking plant here in May and rounded up 389 illegal immigrants, they found more than 20 under-age workers, some as young as 13.
Now those young immigrants have begun to tell investigators about their jobs. Some said they worked shifts of 12 hours or more, wielding razor-edged knives and saws to slice freshly killed beef. Some worked through the night, sometimes six nights a week.
I truly believe Rand shares my view that anybody that wants to come here, follow our laws, and be a productive member of society should be welcomed to do so.
How do you think NOT legalizing illegal immigrants will change the practices of what has been known by corporations in this nation?

The President has deported more illegals than Bush ever did.
BTW, the above quotes are from 2005 and 2007. Seems the number of jobs has gone down with the increase of deportation by The President.
that follow our laws part. undocumented aliens violated our laws when they entered illegally. so now you and rand paul are wanting to reward them for their illegal acts by encouraging more of them to come in and work the jobs (at a discount) that would otherwise be performed by American citizens. what patriots you two are

You may accuse me of necrophilia, but, under the combined impression of the drone saga and this little episode, I am perfectly ready to write a check for his re-election coffers. And so are many, VERY many libertarians, moderates, independents and frustrated traditional Republicans, all over the country.
You say that, but you will ALWAYS vote for the Liberal Democrat. No point lying about it.
That's what I think he's probably doing too. He's a guy that does what he thinks is right. To be honest, this is the second thing he's done recently that I like (I liked his filibuster, or at least the issue behind it). I may have to change my opinion of him.
You say that, but you will ALWAYS vote for the Liberal Democrat. No point lying about it.
once your debate is positioned around whether the person you are debating means what he says, you lose.
nu uhh. uh huh. ad infinitum
That is incorrect.
When debating, and you can share this with the rest of the sophomores, you are NEVER going to change the mind of the person you are debating, your comments should ALWAYS be directed toward the education and edification of the audience, whatever it is.
No charge.
I had voted for a Democrat exactly once in my whole life: her only opposition in the race for a city council seat was a loony Green who would strip half naked and bodily prevent the veterinary service people from 'bothering' the nesting Canada geese on the banks of the Charles River. That was, like, fifteen years ago.
What is going on in the Republican party!?!
How hot was this "loony Green?" If hot, my only objection would be if she only stripped half naked
Isn't Rand Paul a Libertarian? I don't think Libertarians are against legal immigration.
Are they?
Didn't Reagan give amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants in the 80s?
WAS HE A RINO TOO !?!?

What is going on in the Republican party!?! I feel like this is going to divide the party even more. Cant wait to see what happens from here.
No, Reagan made the mistake of thinking the Liberal Congress would uphold their concurrent promise to secure the border if he gave the illegals amnesty. He did, they didn't, which is why we are now overrun with Mexicans.
Additionally, in the election immediately after Reagan provided amnesty, less Hispanics voted for Reagan than before amnesty. This is important to illustrate that amnesty will NOT get Mexican votes. They are lifetime dependents who believe in the largess of big government over self actualization.
I'm sick of the pandering in politics...
Illegal aliens should be deported. If they want to be US citizens then they can get in line. Oh yeah I forgot, the majority of illegal aliens use the US for monetary gain - they could give a rats ass about anything other than that. The US to them is a convenient source of income. Most aren't here for freedom or liberty - at least not the ones from Mexico - they're here to make money and their allegiance is to Mexico - that's why they fly the Mexican flag. They don't care this is a honey hole to them.
Obviously there are plenty of illegals here who came from horrible places and are here for safety, opportunity and freedom. However those same people WANT to be US citizens and WANT to live the "American dream" (which is incorrect language considering everyone in North or South America is an "American")....
It also chaps my ass that there are a ton of people waiting in line to come to the US and want to do it the legal way while others just cut in line and they get sympathy for that?
If we're just going to give citizenship to a bunch of line-cutting illegal clowns than what is the point of going through the normal procedure??? symbolic patriotism?
So basically if an illegal wants to use the US for money that is perfectly fine, but if you're immigrating to the US for US patriotic reasons and you respect our laws you get screwed...
Can't say I'm shocked...
Oh but I forgot illegals can vote so they need to be pandered to for their votes..
What a ****ing system we have.
