Poison gas missile strike in Syria

Looking to see how this plays out myself as well.
First off it appears Syrian state TV is blaming the rebels and the rebels are blaming the Assad regime.
Then you have 0bama claiming their isn't enough money in the USA to open White House for tours or the annual easter Egg hunt, USDA meat inspectors to prevent salmonella outbreaks, and now he will have to find Syrian Red Line $$$ or will he let them find their own way like those US military vets that wanted a college education ?
Hopefully this will be an isolated incident or a handling error instead of an escalation.

Obama said this was his red line. It will be interesting to see what happens with this unnerving development.
"Both sides in the Syrian conflict have blamed the other for firing a chemical weapon at a village killing 16 people."

We lack resources to: enforce immigration law, allow white house tours and to secure our own border. What makes you think that what Obama said is not subject to change without notice? He is laser focused on making a budget deal (borrowing and spending more). He will get around to making good on that promise right after he finishes cutting the federal defict in half, bringing "to justice" those responsible for the Benghazi raid and going "line by line" through his (Feb 2, 2013?) budget proposal cutting waste and duplication in federal spending programs. ;)

No, no, no! The Easter egg hunt WILL take place.

We must bring these folks to "justice"! Obama will demand an investigation, just as soon as the Benghazi team is finished... ;)

Haha - my money's on the word "condemn" and the phrase "at this point, all options are on the table."

Honestly I hope this isn't the opening salvo in the use of chemical weapons in Syria. It may be a test to see what the world response is and if nothing really happens all Hell could break loose. The next attack could be a little bigger and they could escalate from there at a rapid pace. Time will tell, I hope I'm wrong.

We'll do nothing because the right doesn't want the U.S. to get involved because it will cost money. They're too busy shouting SEQUESTRATION SEQUESTRATION!

And the Left DOES want to get involved?

I'm not sure this will cause Obama to act - after all, most people in his party believed that it was none of the US's business that Saddam was poisoning millions of his own people with chemical weapons for years and should have been left alone - what's the big deal about 16 people in Syria? Maybe if Assad exterminates a few million Obama might cancel a tee-time and discuss it with his advisors.

Of course he's not going to do anything. I doubt he makes any public statements on the issue, because he painted himself into a corner on this one.

It'll be Carney, when he attempts to explain to the press corps why we only hear crickets from the regime.

Even with live drone intel, compound security footage and at least four survivng witnesses the Benghazi "investigation" has yet to determine just what happened, much less who did "it", so I would not expect and swift and decisive action on this "grey area" in a lawless nation. We must use our "resources" to arm the Muslim Brotherhood (and appease Pakistan), make angry noises about Iran's and North Korea's nuclear programs and continue with the pressing issues of US gun control/immigration reform. As long as we stay away from talking about the US budget/debt Obama is a happy camper.

And the Left DOES want to get involved?

With assisting? Yes. With an all out invasion force with a side of nation building at the end? No.

And the Left DOES want to get involved?
They're already at war with Afghanistan and the US Military budget, not sure they can fight a war on three fronts.

Yet again, with an all out invasion force no. Is invading countries the only solution the right can ever come up with?

We should do nothing because Syria is a political quagmire of no relevance worth the cost of a single American life.

Do you believe 0bama will swerve right and skip another chance to spend $$$ ?

So for those that are criticizing Obama, what would you like him to do about this?

I believe the noise you hear will be a rear offensive from Obama's derriere

Very interesting article yesterday on Yahoo...:Obama Administration Caves to Putin on Missile Shield for Europe

Looks like Hagel is already being tested....

So for those that are criticizing Obama, what would you like him to do about this?

1) Get an accurate account of what the Syrian chemical & biological weapons stockpiles are, what has been used, the locations of where they are being stored.
2) Organize an assault force capable of attacking and securing all remaining chemical & biological weapons stockpiles.
3) Use then withdraw said assault force with all chemical & biological weapons stockpiles able to be retrieved.
4) Let the rebels and regime fight it out until one side or the other surrenders.
5) No nation building, no compensation for collateral damage and no "we are sorry" $$.
