Aren't you falsely presuming that nobody on welfare ever paid taxes?

    Think about it.

    No.

Everyone pays taxes, one way or another. Those taxes go to roads, parks, the military, the police, fire protection, etc.

Those taxes entitle the payer to use roads, parks, and to have the protection afforded by the military, police, and fire fighters.

They don't entitle the payer to get back more than that.

Well then, instead of bitching about so called "loopholes" that the wealthy get to exploit, and oil companies and such, we'd better take a look at things like the earned income credit that allows the working poor to get back thousands more per household than they ever put in...right?

Of course they do. You are simply wrong.

    Right.

And while we're at it, let's take a look at those subsidies that no one is really "entitled" to, and perhaps the giveaways to foreign nations as well.

Well, that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

Even though you didn't pay for it.

I know a lot of people who are on food stamps, but I don't know any people who did not pay taxes to pay for the food stamp program.

I think the welfare queen driving around in her Cadillac who never worked a day in her life is mostly a myth.

    Yes, that's mostly a myth.
and the food stamp program specifically is more of a subsidy for agriculture and the rest of the food industry than anything else.

but to say that either the growers, wholesalers, retailers, and consumers are entitled to it because they've paid taxes is a bit of a stretch.

Social Security/Medicare are entitlements, as recipients are entitled to get something back for their payroll taxes.

The rest of the trillion dollar means tested welfare is another matter. Not that it's all bad, you understand, but it's not an entitlement nor is it something we can afford much longer.

Well, lay out what subsidies you are talking about. As for giveaways to foreign nations, I am right there with ya on that one. But, the only problem is that we are constantly told that those are a drop in the bucket....However, I do love how Obama just had to tell kids from Kansas or where ever, that no white house tours could take place, but magically found some $250 million dollars to give to Egypt, a country that has a leader who as of late has been standing with radicals in his country chanting "death to America, and Israel"....

I have no problem with what you are saying, just have the government be so kind as to give me back everything I have paid into SS, and Medicare, and I'll say fine do away with it.
