KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Sunday accusedthe Taliban and the U.S. of working in concert to convince Afghans thatviolence will worsen if most foreign troops leave — an allegation the topAmerican commander in Afghanistan rejected as "categorically false."
Karzai said two suicide bombings that killed 19 people on Saturday — oneoutside the Afghan Defense Ministry and the other near a police checkpoint ineastern Khost province — show the insurgent group is conducting attacks todemonstrate that international forces will still be needed to keep the peaceafter their current combat mission ends in 2014.
Pentagon needs something to prove that military must be exempt from sequestration?
Or a move to increase troops there for coming war on Iran?
Even Karzai saw something over there.
