that's certainly a possibility. however, most people seem to want the extra hour of daylight after work. the best compromise that i can think of is to give them that hour all twelve months of the year.

i'm truly trying to figure out where your misunderstanding is originating from.

    let's do it like this.

currently, Florida and Georgia are in the same time zone. this spreadsheet illustrates what the time would look like in the two states under the new proposal.

The problem is that the variance between times will grow - people don't seem to understand that.

Pretty much each country in the world choose which time zone they will be in. The world is broken down into 24 different time zones based on GMT. You do know or realize until 1966 there was no such thing as Daylight Savings time. The Uniform Time Act of 1966 established DST in the United States. Events around the world will occur in what ever time zone that event takes place. It makes no difference if Florida remains on DST all year around and other states do not.

I am not sure what you are getting at. Different countries change their time at different times and we too have let DST and Standard time slip. Right now I have no clue as to what you are getting at here.

But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Really? then tell me why we add a day day to our calender?

Let me guess - you really never thought about the idea or investigated the idea?

    Prove me wrong.

You may as well claim an extra day to a month has nothing to do with time.

A country has absolutely no choice what timezone they're in.... That's for the moons, planets, gravity and stars to decide..

    Unbelievable...

    it will not grow.

Georgia will move ahead one hour in the spring, and go back one hour in the fall. in other words, 0 + 1 - 1 = 0.

Florida will not move ahead one hour in the spring, nor will it go back one hour in the fall. in other words, 0 + 0 - 0 = 0.

neither state gains or loses any time.

    And the effect difference is?

A Leap Year is control against the standard year lasting 365.25, by adding an extra day once every four years we maintain a consistency in seasons occurring at their normal times according to our months.

Daylight Savings Time is about maximizing the amount of daylight people have during the hours they are awake and at work, it is done by adjusting the hour of clock either forward or backward by one hour in order to better match the position of the sun as it changes in the sky due to the tilting of the Earth.

Since Daylight Savings Time is canceled out every November it does not add or subtract hours from the year and thus IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM would cause clocks to read 3PM when its completely dark outside for example. Every March an hour is added every November an hour is subtracted, thus there is no net change.

    Stop. Being. Retarded.
