North Korea vows nuclear attack on US, saying Washington will be 'engulfed in a sea of fire' | Fox News

North Korea amplified its threatening rhetoric as the U.N. Security Council approved new sweeping sanctions, vowing to launch a first-strike nuclear attack against the United States and threatening to engulf Washington in a "sea of fire."

An unidentified spokesman for Pyongyang's Foreign Ministry said the North will exercise its right for "a preemptive nuclear attack to destroy the strongholds of the aggressors" because Washington is pushing to start a nuclear war against the North.

Looks like the apple didn't fall very far from the tree. I'm curious to see how we respond. If it were up to me, we wouldn't say a word. Nothing pisses off a wannabe "player" like this little fool more than being ignored.

A video they released that depicts what appears to be New York after a nuclear attack. They're wrong, of course. It wouldn't be recognizable. ^^
 
North Korea always has to threaten something when they aren't getting attention. They are no threat at all.
 
There is a recurring cycle with North Korea. They make bigger threats only to be counted with more sanctions. So far it isn't working very well for them.
 
Funny, I thought North Korea had great missiles. The have a 100% accuracy rating when it comes to targeting the Pacific Ocean.

But seriously if North Korea seriously intends to fire a nuclear missile at the United States mainland, they are signing their own death warrant.

What we see here is North Korea picking fights with the rest of the world. Even China dismisses them. They have no chance at any sort of success.

Ignore their asses. While this is certainly more forward than they've ever been, I doubt they actually have the balls to do anything.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, most ironic name in existance, can go to hell.

North Korea is a joke right now. Ten years from now? It might be a different story. Their leadership isn't, as the foreign policy pros would say, rational actors.

I say ignore them much more by striking a deal with China to protect South Korea and then remove our troops from the 38th parallel. Then try to see them bitch about how menacing we are when we aren't even there.
 
I wonder to this day what exactly North Korea wants to accomplish in the long run.

I don't think they have any long term vision. Fear and hate of others is a short term motivator and it seems to be the steady diet they feed their public. When that doesn't work you make them fear you to extend that time frame... which is what I think they really rely on. We are just the smoke and mirror they use to deflect the public's attention away from themselves and how they fail the public... especially when famine is happening there.

Why bother even respond - it would be a waste of time.

Right now they have bottle rockets...

IMO, I would be looking at China considering North Korea is their little bastard child.

The best part is that every time they talk about "reunification" they threaten South Korea and the US.

I don't know why the US, South Korea, China, Russia, Japan and whoever wants to get involved cant just overthrow the "Il" dictatorship? It would certainly build diplomatic relations on the field. Everyone knows North Korea are a bunch of weak morons that love to taunt others despite the fact they can do absolutely nothing.

We should take these things seriously even in North Korea doesn't have the capabilities right now to attack the US. I take such a comment as a declaration of war.

2) North Korean rocket 'can reach US west coast 10,000km away'

Not quite the "bottle rockets" you are insinuating.
 
If there was ever a people that needed liberating from an oppressive regime, the people of North Korea would be it. It's literally an Orwellian dystopia there. But I guess we only liberate people with oil...

I never implied war with China.

China would beat the North Koreans to snot bubbles before China even thinks about screwing up their diplomatic relations with the US.

I'm sure the US has no desire to go to war with China and I'm sure China has no desire to go to war with the US.
