Yeah, um, thanks that's great. I'm on the West Coast, though, so uh, it would be awesome if it didn't get that far.

Let's just make sure that we don't add the Iranian regime to the mix.

I completely oppose military action against Iran.

Saddam without question was a brutal and arrogant dictator but he is no where near Kim Jong Il or Kim Il-Sung. North Koreans actually believe Kim Il-Sung is God and Kim Jong Il would be like a Jesus figure to put it into a perspective a Christian or someone of the west could understand.

North Koreans are segregated from our world or the world and believe the life they're living is utopia while they're nothing but slaves.

At least in Iraq they understood there was developed nations outside their own.

North Koreans don't get that or even understand that. It's horrible.
I couldn't agree more. The people of North Korea are the most in need of Liberation of any nation on earth. They don't even have food.

To invade DPRK, we would have to be willing to accept body counts in the millions with major US cities being uninhabitable for hundreds or possibly thousands of years, and that's not even taking the actual invasion of the country into account.

Invading the DPRK, to put it mildly, would be different from invading Iraq. It's a difference so profound that if you choose to continue to ignore it, it brands you as someone not to take seriously.

You're smarter than that Paschendale, I know you are. So stop acting stupid.
What the hell is partisan about this? Iran is not a threat. North Korea is. And by all evidence, NK does not have the ability to strike the United States. But it is hellbent on obtaining that ability and continually states that it plans to use it. There is nothing partisan about seeing reality. If the United States is to have an interventionalist policy (which may or may not be the right policy), then we should use it wisely, not just to satisfy the desire of Evangelical extremists to have a holy war against their favorite religious enemy. The Middle East has been attempting to modernize for decades. That movement was interrupted by the intervention from the US and the USSR during the Cold War, but they are still travelling in that direction. If we can avoid armed conflict with nations like Iran or Pakistan, they will be eager members of the modern world within this century. North Korea, meanwhile, continues to be the most extreme example of a human rights abusing, totalitarian, militaristic, fascist dictatorship in the world.

Your doomsaying about North Korea attacking the US now is totally unfounded. Their rockets cannot reach us. But if we let them sit for another 20 years, that will no longer be the truth. Seoul might be in danger? Seoul is in danger now. A swift attack to disable North Korea's nuclear arsenal is the only way to ensure that we remain so. Unlike Iraq and Iran, this enemy is determined to harm us, will have the ability to do that if we wait, and is actually crazy enough to start a nuclear war.

Iraq had a larger military when we attacked them, and no one was afraid to attack because of what they might do to Kuwait or Israel in retaliation. I have no idea why you would choose to appease the actually dangerous enemy in the world and continually advocate attacking someone who does not threaten us. Is it just for religious reasons? That's the only motivation that seems to make any sense.

Yeah, nobody in Congress has invited me to go out drinking and whoring with them. I suppose I'm not on the friend list there. Obama won't return my calls. My influence in Washington is questionable.

Iraq may have had a large military when it invaded Kuwait, but size does not always mean it is superior. Desert storm proved that the Iraqi army was fighting a 21st century war with a Cold War mindset. They did not forsee any possibility for the coalition forces to cross the desert to flank them. Then again the Iraqis never forsaw the use of GPS.

Kim Jung un is a kid, he is probably more interested in partying and showboating then military conflict. As for the generals of North Korea, I think they are the brains of the regime, and they are not sucidal.
