It's debatable. A lingerie football league uniform would help.

I think we should keep an eye on this story.

A team may use a late round pick for the publicity.

It was so totally blown out of proportion by the media. Women should not be playing in the NFL period and stopping them has nothing to do with discrimination.

Reports are she asked or had to be told what to do.

If anything, it has to do with it in the sense of pushing it back.

The entire thing was a ridiculous publicity stunt, one that she happily took part in and one the league happily facilitated. All the while, it actually sets back any notion of a legitimate situation similar to this occuring. She got out there, performed a horrible first attempt and an even worse second attempt, all the while injuring herself as well. This was nothing but a step back for any female actually ever hoping to maybe even be looked at as an even SEMI-legitimate shot.

At least someone like Katie Hnida or Julie Harshbarger would have been COMPETENT and have a resume of actual experience kicking in a football environment, and even then likely would've been leaps and bounds behind the other college kickers there.

    It was ridiculous.

OMG a female punter kicked the ball a total of 35 yards in 2 attempts.

    Then got injured.

If anyone knows anything about football, this ought to induce laughter and ridicule.

This was a setback for gender equality--proving changing times don't change the laws of physics.

Not likely. If you're looking to hire The Next Jackie Robinson, there better be at least a chance that he/she might do something worthy. Being the first and then washing out -- never good for anyone involved.

I would on the other hand have a major problem if my beloved Redskins even considered drafting her, regardless of how well her tryout might have gone.
Should the NFL then ban women from trying out entirely?

There is a finite amount of time at these regional combines and the NFL just can't accommodate everyone looking for gridiron glory or their 15 minutes of fame.

Dude, this was a publicity stunt which backfired, not some Great Leap Forward.
