I think it is always a good idea to insure our elected officials are maintaining good moral integrity.
They should also undergo a through audit every year in office.
Corruption of elected officials, could cost a lot more than tax evasion.

The people have the right to elect a coke head if they want. They can elect (I am sure he would win somewhere) Hugh Hefner. I would be more for honesty out of our politicians. I really don't care what they are doing in their house.

Here is the link to the original artical I quoted and put the title on the thread of.

Kansas Democrats force amendment to include lawmakers in welfare drug tests | The Raw Story

Democrats are virtually irrelvant in the Kansas senate, there are only like 8 of them to 32 republicans. They have power to do absolutely nothing, let alone force the repubs to do anything.

They get to keep their cadillac plan untouched and undiminished and it continues to be provided by their employers. Like certain unions they gave themselves a waiver.

I do note that Politifact says this:

"On the assertion that Members of Congress are exempt from the provisions of the Affordable Care Act: also false," he wrote. "Members of Congress are subject under the health care reform law to the same mandate that others are to purchase insurance, and their plans must have the same minimum standards of benefits that other insurance plans will have to meet. Members of Congress currently have not a gold-plated free plan but the same insurance options that most other federal employees have, and they do not have it provided for free. They have a generous subsidy for their premiums, but no more generous (and compared to many businesses or professions less generous) than standard employer-provided subsidies throughout the country."
Which of course is total doublespeak and a lie. They have the best plan available and it is subsidized for them.

You linked a story that was not the same title as the one you quoted. You broke the rules. You don't like it, I don't know what to tell you. For future reference, raw story is about as believable and as partisan as the Huffington compost.

I explained that was a mistake. I linked the correct article. Deal with it.
