Woman fired for having sex

I wouldn't act surprised, but I would support the bad press this gets.

Would it be presumptuous to think the people who enforced such rules are the sort no one wants to have sex with anyway?

The christians are at it again.

If I sign a ridiculous contract saying that I won't be black, then turn out to be black later, should I be fired for that too?

Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

She did sign some kind of agreement about not doing it. They only found out because she was pregnant, so ironically if she had gotten an abortion it would have been a-ok.

Had she had an abortion, no one would have known about her sexual escapades, so she wouldn't have been fired. She still would have violated an agreement she made, presumably of her own free will.

She was terminated for having violated an agreement she signed as a condition of employment. It's hard to fault anyone for that.

She needs to join a union, then it wouldn't matter what she did she couldn't be fired.

Conflating a choice with an attribute of birth isn't helping your backhanded slap at religion. The contract is obviously not ridiculous as it is and has been enforced. Whether Gloria the mooch hound can make enough hay about this in public to pressure a judge into agreeing with her is the only question.

Once again, morals clauses are legal and included in contracts nationwide.

Can you turn black? I think if you do, you'll never go back.

That is simple. Yes! It would violate the contract. It would be the same if he/she said they won't be pink. Nothing complicated about this.

People can be born gay, and yet that same contract forbade her from being gay. Why do we tolerate **** like this from them?

I hope she sacks that place for everything they're worth.

Why do some people, usually on the left of the spectrum, feel that there should be no consequences to their own actions? I don't care whether the provisions of the contract she signed were stupid or not - I presume no one held a gun to her head and made her sign - she could have walked away and tried suing for discriminatory hiring practices or some other silly reason, but the minute she signed the contract she took responsibility and committed to the provisions. Breach of contract is breach of contract - period.

That is true. It just seems like a dumb-ass agreement. Especially since I'd assume that this agreement pertains to male employees too, except that who would ever know about them?

Essentially, it's a rule that can only be enforced against a woman.

Lol! Who signs a contract like that? Some people are just stupid.

So, did they actually see her having sex?

I mean, I seem to recall a Christian story about a women who lived 2000 years ago who is said to have managed the trick without it.

And prosecuted for fraud if you are black and fibbed about it to induce a contract from which you gained financially.....

You know, if I were her and I had the income, I'd hire Gloria Allred too. Despite my distaste for her personally, if you want the publicity (which she does because her best chance is winning in the court of public opinion) she's the lawyer for you.

Indeed, but the external criticism could negatively impact the College, which could be supportable. They would have to weigh potential problems with PR (enrollment figures, money, employees, etc.) and the wording of the policy.

Yes, she broke the policy. However, when you have a cult organization such as the church, where hypocrisy is rampant, I can not the religion seriously.
Before religion goes preaching, they need to get their house and sheep in order.

LOL at the one girl: "I mean, everyone sins" :rofl:rofl

Maybe she should try that!

That excuse only worked ONE time - you can't reuse it.

I agree with that girl. I think she's right, everybody does things they're not particularly proud of.

Gee, if it's such a cult filled with hypocrites and other vermin, why the hell did she take a job there?
